Question Is there anything to reduce aching?

I have found that I've been aching big time lately.. is there anything that I can take to speed up the recovery? My legs ache really bad and my back. Thanks.

Are you supplementing with anything atm? First thoughts are creatine, NO, EAA...

Only Protein shakes, Omega3, Multi Vit, Reflex Green tea, L-Glutamine.

I think I may have dehydrated myself a bit in this heat lately? I've not been drinking that much.

Re: Is there anything to reduce aching?

Firstly drink plenty of water, make sure your sleeping enough and protein intake is sufficient.

Supps that could help are creatine and glutamine.

I tried creatine once before and wasnt sure if it was making much difference to my training results. I might give it another try tho shortly.

Re: Is there anything to reduce aching?

Try it again mate, just make sure you drink plenty of water. But remember you get 'responders' and 'non-responders' with creatine;)

Re: Is there anything to reduce aching?

what is your post workout meal....if its just whey try getting some fast acting carbs in as well...to help recovery.... and add in about 10g glutamine to the shake!!

its pretty normal to ache for a few days after sometimes longer!!

Re: Is there anything to reduce aching?

Thinking outside the box, a sauna is a great help although the effect wears off pretty quick. I used to do this a lot when I had bad DOMS.

I have only ever had 1 sauna.. and there was a big fat sumo guy in there and he kept getting up and throwing loads more water on the rocks it was life threatening in there! lol.. kinda put me off but i know that a lot of people rate them and they are good if u like the heat.. I dont really like it.

Re: Is there anything to reduce aching?

why not just add a tsp of L-Glutamine powder into your PWO shake - you'd prob save a packet..

Those suppliments are in a combined pack.. and in with the L-Glutamine that I take PWO. I dont pay for them all individually so its not that expensive.

Re: Is there anything to reduce aching?

Post up your diet. Lets see how much protein you are eating for starters, then what your PWO nutrition looks like.

Re: Is there anything to reduce aching?

Also a good quality antioxidant blend or even just high amounts of Vitamin C should help reduce DOMS.

Just a thought, but do you stretch after your workout? I found this really helps me, especially with legs. Spend time stretching before and after workout now.
