Re: amino's

My Protein.co.uk are cheap and the bulk amino's are good quality as far as I can tell, or try bulk powders.

If you buy pre-packed ones like CNP they will cost you a lot more!

Re: amino's

Do you mean branched chain aminos.... I got some bulk from a guy in manchester and they seem pretty decent on price.. think they're on the board anyways

Gonna go away and ask him if I can get a discount on my next order if I mention him on my posts (Hehe!)

Branched chain amino's (BCAA) yes, but also all the other Amino's essential, non essential and conditionally essential.

SD, what are conditionally essential amino acids? Never heard of those before.

Re: amino's

Conditionally essential Aminos are usually non-essential but at times of physical stress, demand outweighs the bodies ability to produce so supplementation is required, this is why we supplement with L-Glutamine before or during exercise.

Cut & Paste
  • Essential Amino Acids & Non Essential Amino Acids .. refers 100% to human utilization.
  • For humans, there are 8 essential amino acids and 14 non-essential amino acids that can be fabricated by the human body from the eight essential amino acids.

  • From these 22 amino acids, being combined & arranged into varying specific chains, all amino acids are fabricated by the human body.
    • This is a fairly complicated area of organic chemistry, but some amino acids, like l-glutamine, are said to be 'conditionally essential'.
  • Simplistically the distinction between essential and non-essential amino acids is that the human body can produce some amino acids from other amino acids. There are also conditionally essential amino acids that under certain conditions that cannot be fabricated in sufficient quantities from other aminos.
  • Essential Amino Acids: L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, L-Lysine, L-Methionine, L-Phenylalanine, L-Threonine, L-Tryptophan and L-Valine.
  • Several amino acids are considered conditionally essential. Meaning that under certain circumstances the body is unable to synthesize these aminos from other aminos: L-Arginine, L-Cysteine, L-Glutamine, L-Glycine and L-Tyrosine.
  • Non-essential Amino Acids: L-Alanine, L-Arginine, L-Asparagine, Aspartic Acid, L-Cysteine & L-Cystine, Glutamic Acid, L-Glutamine, L-Glycine, L-Ornathine, L-Proline, L-Serine, L-Taurine and L-Tyrosine.

Re: amino's

Most amino acid tabs are just compressed whey protein.

CNP brand are hydrolysed whey which is much higher quality. Also the capsules are easier to swallow.

Yes we feel these types of amino tablets are a con. Why not just have a scoop of whey and have 30 tablets in one sitting (30g serving).

Save your money and buy whey (you could even buy hydro whey) or buy BCAA Tablets which are actually useful.

Thanks
