![]() | Multi Vitamin Hey everyone, Sorry if this thread has been done before, but I looked through and couldn't find anything. I suck with the search function. Anyways, I was at my local GNC store getting some protein, creatine and glutamine, and as I was paying for them, the guy working there asked me if I was taking a multi vitamin. I told him I was currently taking a cheap grocery-store-bought brand. He told me that if I'm taking supplements like creatine and glutamine, I would need a quality multi vitamin with lots of vitamin B to help metabolise carbs for energy, or something like that. I wasn't really paying attention, haha. My buddy told me the guy was just trying to sell a product. I didn't buy anything yet. I decided to ask people on this site first cause, IMO, it's the best place to learn these kinds of things. So if I do need to be taking a good quality multi vitamin, what do you guys recommend as a good brand? Should I stay away from the kinds that require me to take 2 pills, 3 times a day? Again, sorry if this has been done. Thanks for your help. -NHB |

Its a good idea to take one as a precautionary measure but as for being a super potent carb absorber or whatever the guy said, thats not really true. Your body is still going to absorb carbs when you ingets them, he might have been talking about chromium which supposedly helps with insulin sensitivity but I have never bothered with Chromium due to the toxicity if consumed in too high doses. Also a recent article in MD seemed to suggest that Chromium actually doesnt work at all.

I would always recommend a decent multi vit, like with most things you get what you pay for if you've bought a multi vit for £2 and there are 360 tablets in the bottle chances are they are going to be crap. In my opinion Solgar and Quest are one of the better manufacturers of Vitamins & minerals, If you are in Canada you should be able to get solgar products as they are made in the USA |
