Creatine - powder or pills

Right. I'm going to start taking creatine. Not really sure where to get it from so probably LA Muscle. Apparently their Creatine Monohydrate is really good, hoqwever the powder is natural flavour so its probably vile. However, LA make creatine pills & chews, are these on par with the powder or shall I just brave the bad taste.

Also,if anyone can recommend other companies that sell really effective creatine that you've used, as I guess LA might not be great.

Cheers.

Re: Creatine - powder or pills

Gangst, avoid creatine pills, all the are is creatine with binders, some of which are harmless some of which aren't harmless (gum and gelatine for example).

I don't know about LA Muscles creatine but I don't agree with skizxi about "creatine being creatine", some creatines still have some heavy minerals attached which lowers purity, bio availability and usefulness.

I know Met-Rx use the same creatine supplier as us and the powder is 99.8% pure and is as fine as glucose.

We give 25% off for UK-Muscle members which would make our creatine super cheap to you.

Re: Creatine - powder or pills

CEE from bulkpowders. Tastes a bit nasty - but if you dilute it with orange and water about 40/60 you don't even notice it. Very cheap as well.

Re: Creatine - powder or pills

Capsules (as in the powder contained in gelatin capsules) are fine and mean you dont waste any, but they are much more expensive than powder.

Creatine Mono powder is usually the best option overall and cheapest. Any brand that uses creapure is a safe bet (Reflex, Prolab, USN) or most well known brands (Dymatize, EAS, AST, Extreme, CNP). I think USN or Reflex is about the cheapest of the well known brands. Definitely stick with creapure or popular brands as there is cheap, nasty creatine mono on the market as well which you need to avoid.

I dont buy into CEE. I dont think it really carries much benefit if any over regular mono but its much more expensive. For me, its marketing spin with sketchy science. Thats not to say it doesnt work well, just in my opinion no better than mono - plus there's not the same level of safety/purity as with mono which is far more extensively researched.

Re: Creatine - powder or pills

if your worried about cost, then the best bet is to buy either the poweder from myprotein or bulkpowders and cap them yourself, or grin and bear the taste.

Also - As EXTREME states, if you mention UK-Muscle.co.uk when ordering from them, they will give you a HUGE 25% discount on all there products!!

For me, I personally get on better with CEE over Mono.

I never really noticed much from the mono, but soon started to notice changes to both my strength, recovery and body compesition when I switched to CEE.

The bonus with CEE is there is no dreaded "loading phase" which I hated with Mono!

I didn't mean CEE or Kre-Alkalyn when I said creatine pills were a waste of time, I meant monohydrate. All creatine monohydrate pills or caps are in plain old fashioned creatine with binders (not good) or in capsules which adds to the prices.

Kre Alkalyn and CEE are a different prospect, if you can afford them.

Re: Creatine - powder or pills

I use Balance - Rapid Absorption Effervescent Creatine. I love the taste and find it gives me the pump up I need before a workout.. Dunno what the extra crap in it that tastes good but it comes in orange flavour. Acts like barocca. Put a scoop in a small glass of water, fizzes up and disolves on it's own.

Our batches of CEE HCl are always minimum 99.8% pure. We never take anything less. Taste is an issue with the raw powder, but you get used to it! Failing that as mentioned above you can cap it without too much difficulty.
