![]() | Question regarding buying bulk powders... Hey, hope this is the right place to post this... Been looking at buying plain whey isolate because i dont tolerate acesulfame k too great, it keeps messing my blood sugar up, but its in everything i eat - especially the protein powders and pre/post workout drinks. Does the bulk powder contain NO sweetners - and more importantly is it cold pressed? Thanks for any advice MB |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | What do you mean it messes your blood sugar up? Are you diabetic or measuring the blood sugar level? Whey protein and especially WPI will cause a similar insulin spike to high GI, especially if not combined with other ingredients.... WPI has quite a dramatic effect on insulin and blood sugar.. ![]() | Nope not diabetic but that sweetner in particluar fools the body into thinking it is recieving high doses of sugar, but without the sugar. The result is a big insulin spike and no blood sugar - which im just unfortunate enough to be rather sensitive to. Yeah ive monitored blood sugar - ive had to for the doc cos they didnt know why i kept getting major dizzy spells, cold sweats and losing vision. Whey isolate doesnt do it that bad alone, and i certainly dont want to add to it with sweetners in high volumes. I prefer isolate because it works so much better than any other form of whey and dont want to sacrifice protein quality if i can help it.. just tryin to cut this sweetner down in general to see how much difference it makes to my well being. |
