| UK-M's Mascot | weigh gainers, should i buy them i was gonna start a poll on this but couldn't figure out how? anyway, are weight gainers worth it or better off saving the money. (and spending it on food instead) i'm struggling to fit in 4+ meals a day into my schedule and was thinking that a weight gainer would be a lot more convenient

| Looking Freaky | yeh weight gainers are definatly worth getting.. make things much easier BUT its always better to turn to natural foods rather then shakes.. always!! If you can get up around 7am and have breakfast at 8.. then something before lunch, then lunch, then a bite to eat before dinner, then dinner and maybe a little something after dinner.. well thats 6 meals right? if too much you can replace 1 with a shake but if the problem your having is not enough space in the stomach then simply make your meals smaller by deviding them through the day. (Its always better to eat less but more often).. also if you keep active you'll find you get hungry quicker ![]() Goodluck!! |

| Sexy Moderator | I train with my cousin at the gym, have been for 4 years now. He is 5ft 10", started training @ 11.5 stone. 4 years later, the heaviest he has been is 12st 12lb, and monday, he was 12stone. So 4 years, and hes got half a stone to show for it (He is stronger and leaner) He wonders why I have put on 4 stone in the same amount of time. We sat down and worked out his diet compared to mine and it was clear to see why. We worked out, that to gain weight, he would need roughly 3200 Calories a day. We then counted his meals, and it came out at... 2100 Calories a day!!! Thats 7000 Calories short a week. He has a busy job and hectic life style, so for him, the easiest way IS to use a weight gainer. Hes now using a weight gainer (NLarge2) and by having just 2 shakes a day, with a pint of whole milk, has increased his daily intake by almost 2000 calories, 180g protein and 200g carbs. I also use weight gainers when bulking, as i tend to need to take in 6000 - 7000 Calories a day to gain, and over 8000 on cheat day. Now, i dont care what anyone says, You try eating 6000 Clean Calories a day, and tell me that you dont get sick of the thought of food within a week. I dont believe anyone can get the correct amount of calories and protein a day without using protein and/or weight gainer shakes to make quality lean gains. Problem is, when your low carb, there is only so many eggs, tuna, chicken you can eat, and when your high carb, you need to be careful that you dont overload on simple carbs and fats from rice, steak, etc.
