Flaxseed

It's got high levels of Omega 3 essential fats. Research shows that it can lower cholesterol and blood pressure. does it contain a lot of protein too...what else is it for?

Your post is incomplete.
Flaxseed is a good fat that the body needs for the heart and cancer. I put this in my protein drinks along with a fruit. You have to have a ballance of carbs, fats, proteins. This all comes from food. Some food is richer than others for health and this is one of them. See below:

Flaxseed

Claims, Benefits: Prevents heart disease and cancer.

Bottom Line: Flaxseed oil is heart-healthy because it contains alpha-linolenic acid. Flaxseed itself (ground or whole) also contains lignans, which may have antioxidant actions and may help protect against certain cancers, though this is far from certain.

I would use this in the protein shakes or in your oatmeal in the morning.

Health food stores.

I use the ground raw stuff. You can use the oil too but I like the raw better. You can take the gel cap and this helps the heart but so does fish oil gel caps and the fish oil is alot cheaper.

No, Fish oils are high in Omega 3 fatty acids.
The Flax Seed oil is also high in Omega 3 Fatty Acids as well.
I cant put the fish oils in my protein drinks as it would ruin it for taste.
Flax seed especially raw is a rich food and has antioxidents (pignans). Adding this to the protein drinks wont effect flavor at all, in fact I like the taste.
But you can use both but the fish oils are cheaper.

i pierced a flax seed capsule (those are big!) and sucked the oil out and spit the capsule out. It was sick! even worse that fish liver oil. i cant imagine how it would taste like with a whey protein drink.

even bette ris to buy the Holland and Barrent Optimum oil blend. that is exactly the same as Udo's Choice. It is the ultimate oil combination, with the prefect ratio of omega 9:6:3. It tastes like sh1te, but works wonders...
