Creatine

Alright, so I have learnt a little about creatine and what it's used for from the PT course I am doing at the moment.

How energy is produced - There are 3 phosphate molecules in your body which are combined into one (I will keep it as little technical as I can). Energy is formed when your body demands it, one of those molecules breaks off from the other 2. When that happens, energy is produced. The 2 remaining molecules stay together whereas the other one goes off looking off looking for a creatine molecule to join on. Creatine is produced naturally in your body. This phosphate molecule teams up with a creatine molecule and only then can it be re-joined onto the 2 that were left behind. Once this has been performed, the cycle continues.

So whats so good about taking creatine suppliments? In basic terms, the more creatine in your system the faster the phosphate molecule finds one so it can re-join onto the other 2. So taking creatine means that your supply of the molecule is much greater, giving you a more effecient source of energy since it can find a creatine molecule extremely fast. Although, like protein, any excess creatine is simply pis$ed out. The point of the loading phase is to build up your initial supply of creatine so you remain having a high stockpile of creatine in your system. In my opinion only, a small load would be a good idea. (Not as much as the manufacturers say, but a little bit of a loading phase). Then after that it is simply maintenance.

If you are not taking creatine, I strongly suggest you invest in a tub or 10 ;).

Alright thats the end of that. If anyone wants to add to this, go ahead. Furthermore if anyone has any questions, give us a yell.
