| UK-M's Mascot | whey protein and glucose I usually take water + whey protein for post work out, milk + whey protein for other times, and sometimes glucose + milk with snacks. Since glucose I believe can be a substitute for sugar I also use it with cereals and tea. So I was wondering if anyone's tried whey protein with their cereal, or any other food for that matter? and is it ok to do so?

![]() | yeh i put a scoop of whey in my cereal, it can be mixed with milk and put in anything, i had a friend who would make up a big jug of chocolate whey and whenever he used milk during the day he would use the whey instead, just gives things the chocolate flavour! it is good though increases the protein in foods

There is good product by Tropicana that I might start stocking soon because I use it myself - and thats 'start up' which is kind of a porridge with whey protein. It tastes quite nice and is a great meal to have for breakfast.

Milk + whey is a good idea, as it slows the absorption of the whey down- which is what you want any time other than post workout. What you're essentially doing by adding milk to whey is creatine a protein blend of casein, milk isolate and whey which is absorbed over time. Post workout I'd say you should make sure you take some carbs with your whey and water if you dont already - this replaces lost glycogen and halts catabolism (breakdown of muscle tissue for energe).
