| Board Geek | MRP info needed. Added up my various intakes today and found that, on average, Im getting about 190g of protien and 2000 cals a day. Now,I wana up that to about 220g and 3000 cals, and since Im already eating 24 hours a day Ive decided to go for an MRP. Two questions, which one is best, and can I make my own if I were to, say, take a mass builder and blend in a bannana or something? Cheers, John

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I consider pro mr by cnp and nytro pro 40 by ast to be the best on the market - certainly of the ones I've tried (which is most of them!) I like pro mr because of the micellar casein, probiotics etc.. and I like nytro pro for the nice taste and the similar great ingredient profile. Both have a good blend of proteins rather than just relying on a fast protein like whey which is digested too quickly to really be a good 'meal'. Instone's mrp is also very good but more expensive with nothing really to justify the extra cost. Most mrps only offer about 240-300kcals, so you may like to have some fruit or similar with it to add a bit more calories. Alternatively you could also add some maltodextrin.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Its kind of reflex in disguise. Basically cheaper versions of reflex products with cheaper packaging, sold direct from Reflex so that they are actually making more money selling a cheaper product at a lower price without the need for distributors and retailers. Good idea, but it always confuses me why they do it - as surely it must detract from their Reflex sales to some extent. Like any company that onlys sells direct to retail custmoers though, they will never achieve the same level of sales as they can by getting the brand into shops and gyms like they do with Reflex - so I guess they are trying to have the best of both worlds. Its a little cheeky really to get retailers to stock your products and then to sell a cheaper version yourselves, but I guess thats business. I must admit, I used them a little bit back in my student days when I was strapped for cash. Back then they just did the mrp and creatine mono. The mrps were all right but I got bored of them pretty quickly (they came in about a 60 sachet box at the time). I believe they've changed the formula quite a bit since then though as it used to have all kinds of extra ingredients added, but now its more just a standard meal replacement.
