| UK-M's Mascot | a few creatine questions I've had a look at previous threads on creatine but can't seem to find answers to the following: What happens if you stop taking creatine? If you've been taking creatine for the past year and a bit, about 7-8 weeks on and 2-3 weeks off, then repeat, and you stop taking creatine, what happens to your body? is it possible to retain the mass you've gained? Should you be gradually taking less or stop taking it completely in order to not loose too much mass?

| Your Friendly neighbourhood pusha! | gotta agree with jock on this! creatine is one of those products that work only when you are on it! which sad to say is like most products on the market, I use it generaly to help keep gains and strength up IMO i dont think the strength goes, just my endurance!

Lets say you took creatine and gained some muscle and strength. You will lose some but not all so there is a benefit here. Cycling creatine, protein, supplements, routines, even gear is all a good idea.

| Gym Addict | I agree with Hacks, you will retain some of the strenght. Also, if you absorb alot of water then surely the creatine is not working that well anyway. I say this because I thought the water absordtion is caused by the creatine outside of the muscle, not the stuff which is transported in the lipids to the muscle cells ( i am probably wrong on this :( . |

so you found that you lost most of your gains when you came off creatine? did you go back to creatine when you realised that you had lost the gains? also, how much do you take now?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I found it better to just use a small amount of creatine on training days only after the workout to aid in recovery rather than a supplement for just quick increases in strength of weight... |

| The Lady Of The Manor | Everyone reacts different to creatine, but in general most people who make gains from it keep some of it. As he says 'Cycling creatine, protein, supplements, routines, even gear is all a good idea.'
