| wise guy | Whey Protein Isolate hi guys n gals, i have just recieved my order of optimum nutrition whey isolate, now this is the stuff that is absorbed into the blood pretty quick apparently, so am i right in sayin that if i mix to protein sources together that it will hinder the wheys performace? ie 1st thing in mornin i have oats with water eggs and a scoop of whey, so will the other protein source (eggs) slow down the reaction or the process of the whey? or is it ok to mix protien sources. also am i right in sayin that the body can only process x amount of protein in 1 hit? sumin like 30g or so and the rest is used for energy or discreeted? or can i take as much protein in as i like per meal and it will be used for protein uptake or what ever you call it? cheers guys

![]() | Hello mate whey isolate is one of the fastest proteins available which is ideal for post training as your muscles need the amino acids to start repairing the tissue If you are adding another protein source to it like eggs, milk etc you are adding a slower released protein which isn't necessary a bad thing if your having your protein at any other time than after you are training. Depending on your bodyweight you will only absorb about 30-40g per time so iwouldnt be havin 12 eggs with your protein shake! Hope that helps mate |

![]() | whey isolate I have to agree with ivandrago, whey isolate is the business after a workout - but use whey isolate only as it will affect digestion and absorbtion! I wasn't awre that Optimum nutrition did a pure whey isolate - the products i have seen a re a mixture of whey proteins. The best one I have used is the isolator whey protein isolate I got it online from an online shop Last edited by Pscarb; 25-10-2006 at 08:02 PM. |
