  | I am sure chef x and some others will give a better insite and more info, but the way you lift them requires more technique and recruits more proprioceptive muscle, also the handle does not rotate, making the whole lift tougher, and you can do a more varied workout using techniques only possible with a kettlebell |

| kettlebells and others have a thicker handle also, they can be known simply as "thick bars". they put more emphasis on the grip of the hold as against anything else. thus developing a stronger surer grip. there is a strange mind-muscle link between grip and overall performance of lifts like the deadlift. using the rolling thunder, i found that my limit was 82.5k for which i could comfortably hold the lift for around the 10 second mark. as soon as i went up 2.5k i couldnt even shift the plates off the floor. thats how finely balanced the link is. develop your grip, the rest will follow
