pain after squatting

been getting real sore hips after squatting lately-side of glutes/hip area, dont think its the joint as sore to press on soft tissue area, changed my stance due to previous back injuries more close together feet and hit quads more, but that hip area growing can see it sticking out in mirror-anyone had same pain and is this just muscle soreness-paranoid its hip pain!

Re: pain after squatting

I tend to squat with my heels slightly rasied on the edge of the mat. I find it helps a lot, but I am not sure what it might do to my calves.

Re: pain after squatting

Hi mate

If it's a familiar DOMS feeling then I wouldn't worry, as long as it resides within 3-4 days max. Squatting with the heels elevated puts a lot of pressure in the knees which over time could lead to complications. Unless you squat light, I would keep your feet flat.
