I'm back yippee

Hi All,
Well I managed to get myself back up to 12 plates (6 per side) for squats last night, I only managed 3 reps but it was nice to be back lifting heavy again after my recent BBing contest zapped my strength.

Even more special is the fact that I am more than 1 stone lighter than when I previously lifted this sort of weight, meaning I have either put on some muscle or gotten stronger.

I Love bodybuilding and competing is fantastic and something I am going to devote myself too, but there will ALWAYS be a place in my heart for powerlifing / strongman.

No Pete is is using the pansy smith machine (We dont have a squat rack at my gym :(). However it is with no suit or anything just raw squating.


Besides even if it were free bar it is nowhere near the monsterous lifts you are doing.............TOTAL RESPECT.

Oh and before the "Ass to grass" brigade pass comment they are full range squats!!!


Just the guy taking the picture did not realise a cybershot has a 2 second delay before it "Snaps" and I was not wanting to hang around at the bottom waiting for the perfect picture LOL

i dont as a rule go above 260k without my equipment.

i will do soon, cos ive gotta build un-equipped strength for upcoming comps :( in a suit its above 330k. i dont like squatting, so dont prioritise it much. thats why my deadlift has come on better and sqautting has stalled, by rights, yes, it should be closer to that mark.

but either way, YOU can still do it!

I have never tried a suit but based on your lifts maybe I should try one.

fck sake del thats some heavy lifting- respect mate.

im struggling with 160kg just now mate for 6-8 reps, itis free weight but id defo not be able to do even 200 on a smith.

those legs must be swollen mate, well done!

Like I have said before I feel fortunte that when I started lifting weights it was with a powerlifter (PROPER strong guy), I feel that powerlifting has given me a a great foundation to build upon for my new "bodybuilding" pursuit.

Realistically I have only been "Bodybuilding" 1 year. Anything I took to my first show was built by powerlifting.


However I am now a bodybuilder 1st and foremost, and I look forward to seeing how I progress in this disipline..............................
