Also not all presses are the same angle so the weight is irrelevant really, if it hurts like fu*k then it's about right...lol

True, some people use everything but the quads for this exercise. The weight is not a true one anyway due to the mechanics of the machine (a sled on an incline runway in essence). It is possible to work the true resistance out if you have a head for physics. My A level physics seems to have dribbled out my ears a long time since! These ought to be done without holding on to the handles (and no, before you say it, you won't fly off the seat). My current max for good reps is 480 kilos, but I do them soooo slowly that I can only get about six reps. I use a four or five second travel in each direction technique. Not nice. I do a little variation on this theme also that I put Supercell through a while ago & it's a true ego killer. Less than half normal weight is a maximum. :boohoo:

| Failure!!! | Re: Legg Press - 305 kg Thanks guys, when it comes to Squats, I suck... Only ever managed a 75 kg squat. All in good form of course, for 10 reps (always 4+ sets). Presently though, I am back to 60kg as I've just got back into things. Mind you, throwing people out of clubs (and I mean tht literally) helps witht the old muscle development ![]() |
