Re: 340 kg squat

excellent squat weight, really is, but i gotta say the reason for using a power rack is to set the catch bars at a safe height if you gotta dump it!!!

also, its a very decieving angle, but what depth did he go to? having the incline seat behind and you also its hard to see

just asking these from a powerlifting perspective

Re: 340 kg squat

It is a big squat so not taking anything away from him, however using the bench to squat down to as far as depth its not a full deep squat more like a half squat.

Re: 340 kg squat

That is a great lift............................If he is going all the way down.

He should compete as a powerlifter.

I am going to attempt a 260k (Smith) squat tonight.

Re: 340 kg squat

I have seen this guy squat before, just in training with 6/7 plates a side, for reps, and he squats deep, (he has quite short legs), but his form is spot on, I did not see this squat, but I would assume it was good.

If he is intending to switch to powerlifting, which I think he should, he needs to bring his stance out a bit, and not quad squat, which will make him even stronger.

He is a super powerful guy, on all movements, and would do serious damage in the powerlifting arena.

Ellis, from that picture it is hard to tell how low the bench is, but on my rare squatting sessions, I put a bellow parallel bench in, just to ensure I made depth.
