Thumbs up Help and advice needed
Hello all,

I need some advice. Im a female wrestling and I have recently started body building, the thing is I want to use back flips and moonsaults (back flips onto my stomach from standing) and need to gain strength in my legs as at the moment I start ok and then end up landing on my head.

If anyone can inform me of the muscle groups to work and what exercises you recommend to gain the power I need, I'd be very grateful.

Up and Under is on a distinguished road
Stick to compound movements, this should be a good start.

Squats, (Quads and hamstrings)
Leg Press, (Quads and hamstrings)
Straight leg deadlift, (hamsrings, lower back)

power cleans would be a great lift to get in with, purely cos its such an explosive move and uses (IMO) every muscle group in the body.

that combined with high box step ups (bar across shoulder, or dumbells in hands) and step to a box between knee and hip height.

and as daft as it sounds, try joining a gymnatics club or even ballet. a lad i used to know went wrestling training, years and years back, but he had to travel a long way to practice. maybe google wrestling camps or summat similar??

Have to agree with Pete here.
Power cleans football (american), sprinters, MMA fighters all use to develop speed and power.
Takes a little time getting used to the motion though and good form is super important.

No Ive been wrestling for three years but because now I train both now in the Uk and USA Im taking my training extremely seriously. Plus Im now studying to become a gym instructor.

Yes I have done matches under the name Black Widow (a heel), but alot of my early stuff really sucked.

So in conjunction with a brand new gimmick (which is neither heel nor face) Im building myself up, mass and strength. I d like to get sort of in the direction of Chyna but not as built as she was.

What promotions have you worked for?
