CYTOMEL FOR A NON BODYBUILDER

HI IV GOT A LADY WHO IS 55 WHO IS ON THYROXINE AND IS NOT CONVERTING T4 INTO T3 . SHE HAS BEEN ON THE INTERNET AND SEEN T3 CYTOMEL ON THERE THAT SHE CAN BUY. IS THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS LONG TERM AND IS IT SOME THING THAT SHE COULD USE IN CYCLES THROUGH THE YEAR ON AND OFF TO CONTROL HER WEIGHT AS SHE IS PUTTING WEIGHT ON EACH YEAR. HER DIET IS GOOD AND I KNOW THIS MAY NOT BE THE BEST WAY BUT SHE IS LOW WITH HER WEIGHT LOSS.I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THESE HORMONES AND HAVE BEEN ON THE INTERNET ABOUT IT BUT IT ONLY TELLS YOU MORE FOR A BODYBUILDER GETTING IN SHAPE FOR A CONTEST .

These thyroid hormones cause a rebound effect when you come off you usually put weight on. Tell her to go to her doctor, he will prescribe her thyroid hormone if needed and it will be free.

Re: CYTOMEL FOR A NON BODYBUILDER

thanks jamie , i would of thought they would of done that but all they give her is the t4 but they think that is nt converting to t3 all its doing is storing in the body. there is side effects to most drugs but if the positives out weigh the negatives then she would be happy .

Re: CYTOMEL FOR A NON BODYBUILDER

King is right mate. She needs to get down to the docs so they can find out exactly what is going on. There maybe a good reason why her body is not changing it (if that is actually the case). Putting exogenous T3 into her body may cause more harm than good.

If she is looking at it purely for weight loss, then I would suggest she looks at her exercise & activity level. As poeple age it does tend to become a little more tricky in keeping the metabolism up.

All the best,
J

what doses of t4 has she been running... remember that 125mcg of t4 only converts to 25mcg of t3

Re: CYTOMEL FOR A NON BODYBUILDER

im going to pass al this on to her husband as for the dosage i have nt got a clue . i know bits about epherdrine, asprin, and caffiene stacks but even them are short time use plus you feel like your speeding al day long and it would nt be for her . i thought may be cytomel could be some thing she could take on going . but it sounds really like she needs to see a doctor about it .
