Rotator cuff injuries.

As you guys know I have been heavy training for quite a bit of time now and my cycles have given me the chance to lift weight that I could only dream of before.

Finally i'm feeling some of the consequences one being rotator cuff strains on both shoulders and the other being weak wrists.

The cuffs are the main problem at the moment though and they are giving me serious greif. i am having trouble lifting my usual weights and feel absolutely useless at times in the gym and don't even feel like training. At first they were just slight pains every now and again but now they're a shi*ter and really painful.

I'm taking a trip to the doctors this week.

Here's a few articles from some reseach I did for anyone who's having or had these problems. Cheers jud6572.

The last one is useful and contains a lot of info about injuries.

Jud, I have been having problems myself as of late. My right shoulder is hammered. I know it is from heavy lifting on Bench and Military presses (my favorites).

Bad exercises: military behind the neck, pulldowns behind the neck, heavy bench (for prolonged period of time), heavy military (for prolonged period of time), heavy inclines (for prolonged period of time).

Listen to your body, if it aches then modify your routine. Routines should be, heavy, light and not heavy or light. Diffrent angles of the same lift, dumbells, cables, machines.

The fix: Partial tearing of the rotator cuff will often heal on rest. :( If I dont quit, I am in for a complete tear.
I am going to quit Bench, Military and inclines. Sucks cuz I am bigger and stronger than I have ever been before ever. I am going to do the rotator exercises and take the supps to help but rest and rehab will work.

The shoulders are the most complex joints in the body. Surgery's are sometimes not successfull. More surgery is not better either.
I am bummed but this is an oppertunity for me to share with you guys so you dont end up in the same fix as me and Jud. I dont know, maybe I should have devoted some time into the rotator exercises prior to and during lifting heavy.
You guys are the best and will keep you informed on my progress.
Cheers Jud
