![]() | metformin/ glucophage im gonna run it at 1500 mgs per day. i have reasearched alot on this drug as i do all drugs. my question is though is what is the best way to take it with a meal?? would it be half hour before, at the same time or immediatly after? im thinking to take it half hour before so the drug is fully active when im eating. also what about taking it post workout? any help is appreciated andy |

From what i have read mate pwo is a bad idea but i cnt remember exactly while ill have a look round my saved files. If i remember rightly it has a reasonably long half life so you could take it all in the morning however when i take it on my carb up/refeeds i split the dosage usually 500mg 3 times a day. i will be doing this when i start bulking but may try and take it all in one go in the am if i can find the right info again lol. |

I've always taken it before my meal. No more than 30minutes before, and no less than 10 minutes before. That way it can be in circulation when the meal is going down! I've seen many use it post workout, but I never tried it myself. I workout too late in the day to run my metformin that close to bed. I usually do 500mg in the morning, before breakfast, and then another 500mg either just before lunch, or if I have a meal instead of shake pre workout. 1500mg from the start can be a bit rough on your stomach. It is a good idea to start out low, then work your way up. I certainly would not use 4g, but you can take 500mg with each big carb meal. If you are downing a protein shake or protein meal, there is really no need for it. |

I think most people suffer the first week. I got the ****s bad a few days in, but now a week later and i'm abolustely fine. I think it's dose dependent as well mind, i wouldn't go over 1000mg per dose. I try to take mine 20 mins before a meal also. It does decrease appetite but not to such a degree (for me personally) that i can't eat. I have a very big appetite anyway so it's actually an advanatge for the most part.

ive taken 500mg txice today on my refeed like a normally do. will be taking another 500mg with tea 2night. I find increase vascularity and feel a bit fuller so to speak but the 500g carbs ive had already will help with that. I cant comment on the apetite as my stomach has shrank due to dieting so i get full very easy. I havnt had any of the issues stated above when used today or previously. i will be using it everyday in 5 weeks time during rebound to try and keep fat gains down. |

I believe it's generally not taken after training due to it slowing the release of carbs, I generally take with my PWO meal. With regard timing I usually take either immediantly before or immediantly after. I have the 850mg tabs and take with my main three carb meals of the day. I have certainly stayed leaner whilst doing this even with what by my standards is an appaling diet i regret to say. |

Thanks mate. Cheers. What about lowering your test levels? I saw some studies that said that metformin actually lowered test levels. Do you think that it is something should be overlooked? Or if not maybe a test booster would help with that?
