| UK-Muscle Moderator | compound exercises mate...squats, deadlifts, bench will all increase ur core strength, sit ups isolate the abs ,remember to work things together mate... if u do loads of ab work remeber to work ur lower back same with everythin...keep ur body in equilibrium

![]() | as said by DB: in this order IMHO: Squats,Deadlifts,Incline Bench press, rope crunches.. i've never done a single sit-up.... dont like em.. i do honestly believe that sit-ups are xxxxxxxtremely overrated for ab work and are more dangerous to the lower back than deadlifts... plus when ur heavy and tall its very hard.. for me at least.. i do have a very strong stomach (hard) and i did have a 6pack in the summer.. u need to build all of ur physique for an overall strong body..

To look good it is all about bodyfat %. I recon almost everyone has a 6 pack, it's just hidden under a blanket of fat...... this mid section fat will be the last fat to disappear when cutting - if someone has a visible 6 pack, fair play, they have got their bodyfat sorted.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I agree with all the boys above- a few favourites of mine are hanging leg raises, all different types of weighted crunches, good mornings and torso twists with a bar. I always try to keep tension on my abdominals, after everyworkout I always include an ab exercise with high or low reps, with weight or without. On weekends I train abdominals first in the workout, when im fresh. I dont know if anybody agree's with me but constantly tensing and posing the abdominals could help, diet is another factor. |

![]() | people think using the sit-ups will progress your stomach and only your stomach. let me make this simple. your body loses fat equally throughout your whole body. example: your focused on your arms/bicep having too much fat around it, so you go balls out directly trying to get rid of that fat on your arm. most of us love having a cut bicep tri ect.. this whole time you are burning this fat, you step on a scale and say WOW i lost more than expected, you cannot lose that amount with my arms. as it turns out. you just lost fat equally through your stomach, your legs... everywhere. my point is you cannot expect to develope a stomach and have the remainding size as it were before. lets say you use your sit-ups every night before bed or whatever you do. your trying to burn that fat around the stomach and develope the muscles but i am sorry. you using sit-ups will burn off your legs chest shoulders arms back. EQUALLY THROUGH OUT THE BODY. the only way to develope a nice stomach is through diet and cardio. trust me you have the 6 pack you just cannot see it yet. you need to get your whole body fat percentage down to 10% before you will see any of a kind. i hope you understand some things alittle better according to this topic. | UK-Muscle Male Animal | Yep agree with that. You cant spot reduce. I dont work abs. I feel that if you work abs it will make your waist bigger. I also dont think that the obliques should be worked eather. I want a small waist not a big waist. Now if you are one of those big powerlifter guys and dosn't care about looks, then train it then. Waist to shoulder ratio. That nice taper is what gets the girls. Well and a nice 6 to 7 figure income job dosn't hurt..........lol:p
