The law:

Steroids are a prescription drug now Class 'C' under the Misuse Of Drugs Act. They also come under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001. Schedule 4 part 2 this make them exempt so you can possess for your own personal use.
Importation: this is covered by Home Office Circular 29 of Sept 1996. paragraphs 8,9 & 14. This states that even without an import licence you can import steroids or HGH for your own personal use.
So anabolic steroids are prescription only medicines. It is not illegal to possess them for your own use or to import them for your own use, but it is illegal to supply them without a licence, or to import them for supply to somebody else: Class C penalties apply.

Going by that, the majority of the people on this board who possess pharma grade gear is breaking the law..

That bit is from the Police website and I agree it's not clear so i called them up but all they could tell me was "possesion is legal if you got prescription".
Seems they don't have a clue either.

Ok mate let me try and clarify Perscription Meds are controlled by Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and by the Home Office, (not by Customs nor the Police par say). It is pertfectly legal to posses 3 months supply of "Pharma" anabolic steroids, it is perfectly legal to import 3 months supply of "Pharma" anabolic steroids. The grey area being what 3 months supply is, this is something that you would need to prove.

There is no legal obligation to hold a valid perscription for these items.

Yes mate I have spoken with the Home Office direct who although don't like it have confirmed that to be the case.

I did a post a while back about it I'll try and dig it out.

In my experience the old bill will confiscate anything they're not sure of.
Usually in my field it was prescription opiates or benzodiazepines held without a prescription.

I suppose if the law is technically on your side you can ask for them back but I wouldn't fancy nipping down to the station to fill in a claim form with all my details asking for my illegal steroids back.
