Re: liver results after aas course please help

It's not that high.

Your doctor is being very thorough which is good, as persistently elevated levels of liver enzymes can indicate some diseases which are better caught early rather than later, like chronic hepatitis.

Doctors and medics will only consider it of concern when it is 5-10x the normal range.

Your liver is the site where drugs are metabolised, where a lot of things are processed. If these systems are a bit over-whelmed, which some drugs can do, then you get a bit more liver cell turn-over (they die and release their enzymes into the bloodstream).

It is more than likely the result of your cycle, and orals are know to be a bit liver toxic, especially the 7-alkylated ones.

Don't worry, I am sure the levels will be back to normal in a month if you take some protective measures now.

Re: liver results after aas course please help

thanx for the replies ,was only going to do oral winny for 6 weeks then inject 50mg every od for last 4 weeks but my source let me down on injectable ,hindsight is a great thing wish i hadnt done it now but was ill advised at the time.I was meant to be having 6 weeks off then going back on as i was going to enter my 1st comp (at grand old age of 37) in leeds begining of oct,but looks like ive blown that now till i get these liver test results sorted 1 way or another!!
also will the novaldex or clomid raise my levels and if so how soon before next test so i stop them?
many thanx again

Re: liver results after aas course please help

lol bro... 76 ALT is no even a mild concern.... mine was at 120 and still doc said dont worry.. not that high.... i was reading somewhere long time ago that you should start worrying at about 400 or so.. i know alcoholics have anywhere in range 500-700 and still havent had cirrhosis.

in short 76 is nothing to worry about

Re: liver results after aas course please help

Nice to have read this thread because last time i got a blood check (over a year ago) my liver values were 155 but this was due to drinking nothing else so once i got into training again i just dropped the drinking and thought that would be fine.
Was ****ting my self over the 155 for a while though.
Nice one guys.

You could also try ALA as this has been known to do good things, and if you are really worried its never too late to use milk thistle or something similar.

Re: liver results after aas course please help

Get on the milk thistle now anyway mate. My ex's mother was a herbal remedies expert and acupunturist and she said that whilst it helps protect the liver from toxins it also helps repair any damage. For bodybuilders it's therefor an absolute must.

I know that studies have shown this might not be the case but for the sake of 12 quid I reckon it's worth giving a go. I always take it whether on a course or not.

Re: liver results after aas course please help

Start the milk thistle now m8. It often goes on sale in holland and barrett and take about a gram a day divided throughout.

Also don't worry about that reading, like others have said it isn't that high to be a concern. All it shows is that your liver has been worked that bit harder. Readings like this by Dr's who know don't raise an eyebrow. Mine tells me someone who drinks regularly would be high if not higher than that.
Also as touched upon, heavy training can effect the reading so perhaps do take a few days off before you re test if your really concerned and want a more accurate reading and be sure your not taking any other meds, even brufen for ag as this will effect the readings.

I certainly wouldnt let that reading stop me from entering a show, just be aware of it and take remedies to assist and avoid orals over a prolonged period. ( My 1st show was your age too )

Also why don't you search Genetic Edge on here as this might be what your looking for. Im currently trailing it and seeing what it will do for my readings in a week or two which were similar to yours after my last show.

Ive also had a liver scan when they were higher and that came back as perfect, although admittedly that wouldn't show everything.
