![]() | Blood work and testing Any experiences with blood work testing and so forth in the UK? What do you guys get done? You do get testing done right? Did you confront your GP with it? Did you go private and if so where and how much did it cost? Specifically prices. I briefly looked into things and it looks like 1/2 a grand with BUPA at least for anything that scratches the surface. I need to consider testing if I'm gonna take any juice. What tests do I need and how much do they cost? - Testosterone; I'd be interested in finding out how it varies over the day etc - Oestrogen; to be sure levels aren't too high and react with anti-e's - Cholestrol; I found a test in Boots but it's a criminal £10 a shot for a crappy bit of paper (should be free). The waiting list is 2/3 months and they say I shouldn't do it at my age (24). - Liver Enzymes; haven't a clue how much this costs. + Other general tests such as a physical examination? Can blood work be done via the post or does it have to be 'fresh'? Can any of this work be done at home?; can home cholestrol tests etc be found cheaper on the 'net? I really don't fancy shelling out thousands of £££ for work that I know doesn't need an expert to do but is expensive due to past litigation... As an aside: I have big problem of a sensitive bowel. If I eat the wrong things it'll bleed. It's sore and feels like piles coming across. The doc says he can't refer me to a specialist without identifying a bacteria; I went on holiday abroad and they identified I was recovering from something but couldn't see what. What should I do? I would like to rule out bowel cancer and piles thank you very much. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | there's a website which will do testosterone tests for you, there's a thread somewhere here with the URL for it, I can't remember what it is and it's too early for my brain to function well enough for me to look for it ![]() Cholestrol and blood pressure would be worth keeping an eye on. Your quack is the person for liver and kidney function tests, going private is best but expensive.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think http://www.androbalance.co.uk/ is the site Biker is talking about. I've been up a few hours so my brain is JUST about functioning enough to have found it for you ![]() I don't know exactly how accurate the levels are from saliva compared to blood (the site tests based on your saliva samples), but I plan on using androbalance in 3 weeks time (2 week after I completely finish PCT) to evaluate whether I can go straight onto another cycle or not. I'll let you know how it goes. Didn't know they did cholestoral tests in Boots.. I'll have a look for that today. |

Testosterone levels are high first thing in the morning. Keep an eye on Blood Pressure on cycle especially the androgenic stuff. My Dr. will do full blood work and all I have to do is ask. I live in the States tho and I am not sure you guys can get this same treatment.

Also in the States, your docs are a lot more advanced than us with what you can obtain levels for. | ||

![]() | "Yes - we can do the same. All we have to do is ask - and pay money. NHS is free, but unless you give them a valid reason WHY they should be checking your levels and liver profiles, you'll have to hand over the green. There is also the fact that it will end up on your medical record here." ^ this is an important point about the NHS. They're ok if you've got a life threatening condition but if you're interested in prevention they look at you as if you got 2 heads; or what ever that word is for someone who thinks they got everything. For example, I went in to get myself checked for STDs for the sake of my new partner. When they questioned why I was getting tested I just said, no symtoms, just a routine check. By her reaction I could see she either didn't believe or get that answer very often. These things should really be cheaper or free. I wish I could do it myself. Anyone know how these tests work. I don't fancy asking my doc for liver and kidney tests. I don't think he'd be amused. I relise there's a budget but these things should be cheaper. Like mobile phone, public transport and nearly everything in this ****ing country. Now I'm even speaking french. Thanks for the links too ![]() "Single Point Testosterone Kit " £34.99 so it's £35 to get a single reading? Last edited by jago25_98; 26-09-2004 at 11:08 PM. |
