![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi all - just want some advice/reassurance. Wednesday I did a right quad shot or 1ml Sust and 1.5ml Deca and it hurt a little. Thursday morning my leg hurt like hell and I was limping around and couldn't bent my leg without major pain. A massive red mark taking up most of my quad had appeared and felt hot. This has gone on until today (Sat) and has got no better. I still can't even squat to the ground and am hobbling round like a cripple. I'm getting paranoid about an abcess - tell me I'm being daft and to shut up being so wimpy! Should I go to the docs? How are they about roid taking and roid induced conditions? Any help would be appreciated Mark |

| I've never done quad shots so I ain't sure if this is 'normal' but I would have thought if the area is hot this may indicate yr body fighting something like infection ??? In the absence of any other advice and if yr really worried I'd probably get a good book and go and spend a few hours waiting about at yr local A+E dept..If you don't want steroids mentioning on yr health record give a Mickey Mouse name and a girlfiends/mates address (so they can keep in touch with you if need be) You could also try getting advice through http://www.addaction.org.uk/Serviceshome.htm they are non judgemental and pretty cool. Might not be open til monday though.. You could also phone up NHS Direct. 0845 4647 they'll ask for yr name n number and call you back - Mickey Mouse name/address and yr own mobile number should ensure total confidentiality... Good Luck mate! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I ended up going to the A&E dept Sat evening cos it hurt so much - even my knee is a bit swollen.... told them what I had shot up - they seemed to be pretty cool about it - they asked if I had done everything properly and cleanly, which I had and gave me a strong course of antibiotics to clear up the infection indicated by the large hot red mark and swelling.... Amoxycillin 500mg 3 times/day, Flucloxacillin 500mg 4 times/day and some strong painkillers called Kapake containing paracetamol and Codeine. I tell you I'm glad I went cos even today I can't bend my leg and it hurts like hell so at least I've got this med in me hopefully starting to work. I'm feeling pretty peed off cos my workouts are gonna have to be put on hold till this clears up cos I'm f*****g crippled at the mo and can't even drive my car! Still managed to shoot up in my ass today though!!!!!!!! What's the worse that could happen? they can chop off a cheek when they take my leg off! Last edited by mark; 08-06-2003 at 01:36 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mark, I don't know if it was this that made the difference, but I took my latest sust shot just before bed, rather than first thing in the morning as I had previously done. And it wasn't sore at all today! Maybe it was because it was my second sust shot in the right glute, but it could be worth trying. Hope your leg gets better soon! |
