Dwain Chambers

Just a random post really.

Has anyone seen today's' copy of ''The Daily Express,'' not really sure why I was reading it, but there's quite an interesting article in there, (well at least I thought so), on Dwain Chambers and his taking of steroids and how it's rife in competitive sports etc. The article can be seen here http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/...rugs-bombshell just wondered what you all thought?

Additionally does anyone know anything about these testosterone creams and gels he was using, most the test stuff I've come across on here appears to be injection related - just curious as to what you thought about them?

Cheers 'wogihao,' I've just been reading the letter you posted in your thread 'Dwain Chambers Stack.'

I just wondered what everyone on the forum made of the whole situation.

Re: Dwain Chambers

I think its good that chambers is going to help find out the drug cheats, Im sure he knows the ins and out of how to dodge a drug test, so it will help to make it a fairer sport. its not fair when theres natural athletes competing against athletes on steroids. There would be no contest, most likely the guy on steroids would win if both are talented and everyone will agree on that.

Re: Dwain Chambers

i may be way off the mark but i believe the majority of sprint/throw/weightlifting athletes are all using some sort of p.e.d`s its not possible for somebody to run an unatural sub 10 seconds and somebody natural be able to compete at the same if not better with the unatural athlete

I completely agree. They always seem to be one step ahead in performance enhancing drugs and ways of getting around the testing. Not just sprint etc look at the tour de france, its been going on for years in cycling EPO was the big thing a few years back. I no this is a bold statement but i would say 90% of professional athletes have used performance enhancing or illegal drugs in their lifetime in sport.

Re: Dwain Chambers

Id did work experience in a WADA testing lab during my pharmacology degree and the athletes are years ahead of the tester. The proffessor running the labs said they were basically ****ing in the wind! for every 1 tester there 10 guys working on how the athletes can get around the test's not only by altering parent compounds so they dont know what they are looking for but, tweaking times of dosings and the addition of other drugs even chemo therapy drugs that massively increase drug clearance rates or mask a certain compound. When i was working in the pharmacology feild many people gave advice and drugs to athletes at all levels from club upto olypimic, and it seemed that everyone was doing and so in reallity i doubt there really is many cheats, as there is already a level playing. What dwain and Victore have revealed drug regime wise is old, now theres far more emphasis on insulin, aswell as compounds that
regulate the inflammatory responses to training. Although it is unlikely they'll find a test for GH anytime soon but beacuse of the recent focus on it alot of athletes are becomeing nervous that they will do soon so are looking at other things. Alot of the
strenght athletes are looking more and more into ways at suppressing cortisol aswell.

I say either increase the amount of testing so that there is no way for them to duck and dive as victor put it(this has alowed many to use compounds that we bodybuilders do) and make it one strike and your out rule(miss one test your banned) or simply save the money currently wasted on test and let them take what ever they want. If that happend i doubt there'll be very little increase in performance anyway

Do you think that the substance level ranges are to wide for testing theres so much room for suplementation its beyond a joke with some of them?
