Deca and joint pain - real world input needed!

Hi folks,

28, training since 14, long history of injuries since 2001, lots of joint pain etc.

Done a couple of small cycles since first in 2006 and am looking at 3rd cycle this year.

Was looking for real world info regarding deca and joint pain - i know the geek stuff...just wondered if any long term trainers / older guys with pre-existing injuries had any benefit with Deca in a cycle?

Cheers,

G

No, no benefit for me, not anymore than being on any aas were you'll get water retention.
IMO it's a myth, probably started because deca was the injectable of the day back then and it helped with someones joint pain, well it would have been the same if was test imo.

well it could be a myth.. but i had wrist pains for years.. and with my last deca cycle (first time i have used it) wich was well over a year ago... im pain free, i have no joint pains at all. so i guess it works for some, and doesnt for others

Some believe it helps, some believe it causes tendons to strengthen uneven. I think it's a myth really as only ever found comfort from dbols due to the water rentention.

Though I find eating loads of vegetables like I should helps loads with the joints.. And and getting a sports massage even though it hurts like hell!!!

Re: Deca and joint pain - real world input needed!

As mars said no more so than other gear. I do find gear that makes me hold the most water is best for the joints- and deca makes me hold a hell of a lot of water (well the one and only time I tried it).

Re: Deca and joint pain - real world input needed!

Good things for me:

10-15g of ish oils per day
1g glucosamine
NPP
Establishing which exercises annoy joints, mainly forearm/elbow and RC

Things that are not good:

Low fat diets
Low carb diets
Low calorie diets
adex
winny
GH
over pronation of wrist on hand grip
poor form

I shall think of some more but everytime i add one of the good things in, my joints get better (in the order they appear)

Hi Gee, For the last couple of years I have had inpingment/arthritis problems in my right shoulder. I am currently on NHS wiating list for key hole surgery to clean out the joint. Bascially, I have had two cortisone injections in the joint. The first injection took away all pain in the joint for around three months. The second didnt work very well at all and if im honest, i dont think helped at all. Saying that, it was a different Dr who did the second injection and did not go very deep at all, whereas the Dr doing the first injection went very deep into the joint. Anyway, back on topic. After having both cortisones, I did a 10 week course of 500mg per week test enanthate and 400mg per week deca (organon brand). i would honestly say that with regards to pain relief, the aas course worked as well as the first cortison injection. it felt as if the injury had completely diapperared. however, once the course ended the pain sowly crept back and is back to normal again. I then ran another 10 week course of just test (500mg per week), and although this slighlty reduced pain in the joint, it was no where near as when i included the deca. i suspect that the relief was due to water retnetion and could maybe have been a little bit of placebo affect as well, as i had done alot of reading about deca causing joint relief prior to starting the course. hope this helps.

aaahh you again!!

I'm no dietician mate but only going by my sufferings in the gym.

Only been back on the gear recently so during the time I have been off (4 years) I noticed numerous times joints feeling stiff in the gym, shoulders and elbows playing up loads and eating loads of veggies every single night seemed to help. This was before I even heard of glucosamine so no I was not taking that. In fact for awhile i only ever bothered with protein powder and that's that.

I used to boil loads of different vegetables (broccoli, califlower, carrots, spinich, peas) on a sunday night, liquidise them (using most of the boiled water in the mix) and drink a pint everynight with my dinner. Only way to get all that down. I'm not saying all stiffness, joint pain gone just a definate relief was noticed in areas that bugged me.

Ha ha. Ignore me. I have the disadvantage of a scientific background. Whatever works eh.

I like the idea of blending your veges. maybe with a little gravy powder to taste...hmm worked when I was a tiddler.

Never done anything for my tendon related joint pain, (I do like it as an AAS though), for me nothing beats Cissus, not GH, IGF, Nandrolones etc, Cissus blows them all away, but the kind of joint pain is important too, as I said mine is tendon related and cissus works a treat.

jw007 mentioned cissus to me. Never managed to get hold it. Where you buying it from?

Hi nytol, do you think this could help with shoulder tendonitis?
Cheers.
