HOW DO BODYBUILDERS GET SPONSORED - UK-Muscle Body Building Community

hi guys

i know it sounds a stupid question but just how do bodybuilders get sponsored ok i know they have to either do well or win shows.

ive been told that you need to ask nutrition companies for sponsorship or they ask you.

can someone elaborate on this subject?

Normally it comes down to a few factors

1. Who you know
2. How marketable you are
3. How well you do

For example if you have a good looking face you can be picked up quite quickly e.g. Chris Cook in the USA - he's been signed up by weider for a few years cos of his golden boy looks but he hasn't won any shows yet (pro level).

Also you have to know someone in the business. This doens't mean that if your best mates with Peter McGough you'll get a signing with weider but it will help you.

Also you have to win a few shows and make sure you are consistent and regularly compete. Just winning one show isn't good enough. Most guys don't even get sponsored then.

Also what you have to remember is that 'sponsored' covers a lot of ground. For instance LA Muscle 'sponsor' a load of athletes but really only give them a trade rate on supps in exchange for using their image - woopee fcuking doo I could get that by buying from them for my business and they wouldn't be able to use my image.

I've had a problem in the past which still continues with a guy who has a photo of me from 3 years ago and he's still using it saying he sponsors me. I won't give out the name but he's based in Bristol and he's a cock and talking about him makes me quite EXPLOSIVE:gun:

Yes i am sponsored by Extreme i would like to think it was down to 2 things..
1.I am a knowledgeable guy when it comes to most things to do with BB (no comments from you TT or Jimmy)
2.My success in late 04 and 05

as for what it involves to be honest that is between me and the white pasty Scottish man

but i did use extremes products way before i was sponsored by them all that has changed is that i don't order them from the net now...
