True, I aint saying that everyone should be lean as hell - what ever rocks your boat, but I do feel that the majority of people aim to look cut with good definition. I just wanted to make it perfectly clear, gear will not do this. Gear will build muscle. It is down to diet how much of this muscle shows through. I think alot of people embark on their gear mission thinking they will look like PScarb, tinytom, supercell and the likes after a few cycles and a few years training under their belts. The reality is that for the vast majority of people, they won't really stand out from the crowd........ever.

fat matt will become famous soon enough
i know wherer your coming from mark mate and i had at first thought i will just bang on massive muscle to hide the fact that im a fat cont. but after reading what you guys post and other things o the net etc i now feel i would be better to sort out my body fat which is my real hate. hence my new diet( its working i can feel it)

im a big guy its hard to get clothes to fit me now and i dont think mas would be any improvnment at all. also im not sure women like monsta big guys more ripped and toned .
i can say that im a big guy lol.

i have not asked about cutting up as i thought it would be down to diet and maybe cutting cycles later on. if not just a change in routine .

at this stage im trying to work out at what point gear is worth doing ? if at all for my self..

im trying to talk my self out of it , im over enquizative and i am allways doing the right thing at the wrong time or vise versa.

im only real considering test as i have read loads of your guys opinions and im sorta thinking its more a natural unnatural way to go if you get me ... but my thoughts are that once i start i wont be able to stop as is my nature..

all the best matt

My knowldge is based on the few cycles I have done and the books I have read, along with many posts on this board.......I am no expert, but what I can say for sure is that you can not turn fat into muscle. I can tell you exactly what will happen if you hit gear now. you WILL look fatter......no question about it. any muscle will be hidden under the fat and you will also retain water adding to the fatter look. You have to drop bodyfat first if you want to look better. On the note of cutting cycles, these are pointless for you at the moment. The aim is to drop a couple of %bf while maintaining muscle. They only make a difference when you are already pretty low bf and on a strict diet to shed the last few pounds to get ripped.

Imagine this, look at your duvet on your bed (layer of fat)........put a few mugs, bowls, plates (muscle) under the duvet and you cant see them, no shape, nothing, just looks like a bigger plumper duvet - now if you had a thin sheet on your bed instead (skin with no fat) then put the crockery under the sheet, you could see the shape of them, all the features, the handles blah blah......same with putting muscle on under your layer of fat.......

Mate, I can tell you want to loose the weight. There is no place for gear in that. Diet, diet, diet with some cardio and weights thrown in.......the only way unfortunately. If it was easy then everybody would be walking round like an adonnis.....

mark i know what your saying and i agree im realy not looking to do gear any where in the near future . its more of an academic investigation at this point.
as posted im realy more about getting right when its time . if at all..

i dont know if you have seen my posts on getting started but its all there realy apart from my goals are changing every day towards work hard and diet hard to get a lean bod then more concentration on muscle tone shape and size.

i would realy like to see more pics from you guys to see what you look like and to see what you have gained through the cycles you have done.

very very good information there Mark.....

Mark is correct the main thing about looking muscular is decreased BF i look much bigger when i am dieting than in the off season and this is all down to BF%
i used to really go over the top in the off season but now i stick to between 12-15% this way it makes it easier to get down to 3-4% come showtime...

Yep, with shirts off the lean guy always looks like he has more muscle. It's all an illusion.
