Which show in your opinion is the hardest amateur show in uk?

Just wondered guys what your thoughts were on the standard of regional/amateur shows in the uk.

Excluding the ukbff british title and the nabba britain contests, which regional/area show would you say is the hardest one to win, due to the quality of athletes entering???

I would say that before it ended, the mansfield classic was a very tough one to win very competitive. Aswell as stars of tommorow and leamington spa.

How about you guys, what are your opinions?

Re: Which show in your opinion is the hardest amateur show in uk?

You sure you cant make it to europe, the amature compitions their are very good with quite a depth of compition (in Germany).

Perhaps you are concerned about going through 18 weeks of dieting only to have one or two other people on stage with you....

No doubt there are tough comps in the UK with some depth but the problem I found when looking was it was so hit and miss. Some years there were loads of entrys, other times 3-4... in some places.

What your looking for is a comp that has a consistant high standard and good depth to the classes.

Nabba NW is always a full show with awesome physiques

EFBB Gravensend and the Lemington Spa are always good quality.

The portsmouth show is hit and miss because f how early it is. Last year there were some Awesome physiques and the overall was VERY difficult

Re: Which show in your opinion is the hardest amateur show in uk?

Lol guys...sorry i shoulda been more specific haha.

Im not refering to myself...as in saying 'i want to compete in the most competitive show'...im just saying 'in general', what do you guys think are the hardest amateur contests to win/most competitive within the uk.

Id rather enter an easy contest hehe (well, maybe not...it would be v dissapointing if i ended up being the only one on the stage for my class lol). A bit of competition is good, but i wouldnt wanna be in a first timers contest like last year, say up against bajak and taverner.

Yeah, i was thinking the ukbff and nabba north west tend to be very good quality.

Haha tom you won the overall!!! I cant remember though, did you beat darren ball for the overall? I thought darren competed at the south coast last year, so you beat him for the overall title...NICE!

Just saying your a swiss expat in us...

Lots of people compete in europe, why restrict yourself? Get to see new places and meet diffrent people.. I meen you pay your money to the ebff so you might as well make use of the benifits it gives you. Plus you do well in Germany you can do well anywhere as a amature as the standard overall is very high.

I would say there are some shows the consistantly get such a high number of competitors that your bound to get a good show... yea you might get the odd year where a bunch of pub lads decided to do a show (i rember seeing some pictures in some lads mag about that). But still.
