It also helps if you take a decent amount of Vit C. I use 3000mg a day all year round.

![]() | Re: Rightyho i honestly find that you need to cycle sunbed use, sounds mad but my body adjusts and starts to produce more oil to counteract so after about 8 weeks use spots come back to normal anyway but the tan helps cover scars.. |

Have an appointment to see Stuart Cosgrove shortly so I should get his prognosis on my knee - at least I'll know either way. At the rate my forearm is giving me gyp, I might be asking him to have a look at that as well - trapped nerve, I think, or certainly an aggravated one. It's fine when, say, clearing 50kg dumbells up for shoulder press but putting them back down again is murder - a strong shooting pain from the inside of the elbow joint, down the left forearm. Same when clearing for dumbell chest press, etc. Oddly, it doesn't hurt at all when training biceps or back. Elbow (exterior) hurts a bit doing triceps, too, especially close grip bench. Might well give it a couple of weeks rest.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Rightyho Sounds a bit like golfers elbow. I had it at the start of the year. When doing chest or triceps it would be pure pain. When I'd finished dipping I had to get off the bars really slow as it felt like my ulner and radius (hope I got those names of the bones right) were going to snap! |

It's amazing how much energy you waste & how much you can compromise the working set by man-handling the dumb bells into place just to start the set. Also, I'd drop the close grip bench bud, I've got a few killer 'elbow friendly' moves for triceps that I'll show you when I see you next.

Proper painful - but I suppose something was going to give me aggro growing so quickly after the show.

Hopefully we'll meet up in the not too distant future mate - before Crimbo would be good. On a side note - upped the cardio a touch and weight is down to 14 stone 12lb first thing with quad striations just visible. Abs have got a winter layer of warmth on them though.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Rightyho Exactly the same with me. Due to me running the first part of the year in keto, my strength wasn't the best. I started putting carbs in and went from benching 80kg to 110kg in a week then SNAP! Pain is just excruciating (sp???) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Rightyho Just got my total cholesterol results back and, not believing them, went and did a Boots test too for a "second opinion", which got the same result, or near as dammit. 5.6 thingies per thingie wotsit is regarded as borderline for high. So when mine came back at 1.6 I thought "woohoo, how good is that?" Elation lasted all of a few seconds before the doctor frowned and started reeling off problems associated with overly LOW cholesterol (as mine would need to double to be in reference range). Stroke (!), heart disease and all those nasties are, apparently, also associated with overly low cholesterol. Joint problems are another (which I'm getting but maybe not from this), impotence (not arrived yet, honest), and a host of other malaises. And it has an effect on growing and thyroid efficiency, too. With the fat intake I have, total cholesterol should be higher. I get very little saturated fat and mostly "good" fats - from flax, peanut butter, various other cold-pressed oils, fish, etc. Back in for more bloodwork to determine what's up but if she saw my family she'd understand why - we're all built like shredded marathon runners by default. Still, no harm in ruling out liver disease, etc, which can cause low cholesterol levels. I think knackered intestines cause it too through malabsorption of food. That, however, isn't an issue in me - I know that already from other things I've had done. Need more fats....
