Jees....how long is a piece of string dude.....

Your right, we need stats/pictures to establish what kind of condition you are in as to whether you are able to make competition standard in 12 weeks.

Re: 12 weeks ...

The key factor is your bodyfat %. If you know what this is then you can work out how long it would take you to get down to 5-6%

You can lose 2lbs a week on average any more and it is said you are losing muscle.... which no bodybuilder wants to do.

Just as a matter of interest what date is this show and who is the organiser? what part of the country.

Sorry mate you are wrong about this...losing 2lbs a week is not the standpoint to how much muscle you are losing if any at all...

i know of some very good competing bodybuilders who have shaved off 40lbs in 12 weeks with little loss in muscle mass...what you can achieve in 12 weeks is down to diet/training/cardio and of course in non tested shows the gear you use...it has to be said that if you are a natural athlete your chance of losing muscle whilst dieting is higher than someone using steroids to prep with i know because last year i dieted without steroids and was 10lbs lighter than the year before....

what we need is your stats including what your diet and cardio regime is....
posting up a picture is a bonus so we can look to see where your holding the fat....

i will place this in the correct forum...

Re: 12 weeks ...

Pscarb, I was only saying that the average person can expect to loose around 2lbs a wk. Obviously people taking lots of gear or people who are genetically gifted would be able to loose more with less chance of losing muscle, that goes without saying.

I have endless copies of Muscle & Fitness, flex, muscle mag etc with loads of articles in stating the average person should expect those results (2lbs a wk). They also say that if you are losing more than that it is most likley to be muscle (esspecially without AAS).

Just trying to give the guy an idea of Mr averages chances...

Sorry if the post was a bit unclear.

Re: 12 weeks ...

i have loads of magazines that say that Jay Cutler built his physique using Cell Tech does not mean it is true

the 2lbs a week rule in my opinion is a myth mainly because we are all diffrent in the last 2 weeks i lost 6lbs does that mean i have lost 2lbs of muscle?? don't get me wrong i am not having a go but these figures are bantered around and it gives the wrong impression to a newbie in the competing world...

Re: 12 weeks ...

And I only lost 3lbs over 16 weeks but went from 18% BF to single digits. Like Paul and Chem indicate, there is 'No size fits all', I actually grow into my shows. Weight is irrelavant, go by the mirror and skin folds at a number of different sites.
