Mr Caledonia
Next year I'm putting together with the help of Davy McGrath of Planet Bodybuilding (Paisley) and Neil Davidson of 247Bodybuilding.com the Mr Caledonia contest with a Pro Am class.

The show will be on the 12th of May, it will be in Motherwell and will have all the normal classes, weight classes for the Mr's and Juniors will have to be up to and including 21 on the day.

The Pro Am is open to and national overall winners (Mr Scotland, England, wales, UK from any federation, any NABBA, EFBB, WPF, BNBF Britain class winners, any class winners at any European or World level (inc Universe), any former IFBB pro's and the overall winner of the amateur Caledonia.

Show Criteria;
Juniors - up to and including 21 on the day of the show (proof of age will be required)
Seniors - 40 or over on the day of the show
First Season Competing - anyone who has not entered a show prior to 2007 or not placed top 2 in any other contest they have entered
Ladies Figure - open to any females over the age of 18
Miss Fitness - Competitors routine must be 2 minutes 30 seconds long and will be judged on variety and complexity of the routine, the interpretation to the chosen music and the costume worn. A bikini round will be incorporated to asses the competitors figure where muscle tone and condition will be appraised.
Intermediate - open to males of any age who have not placed in the top 3 of a contest (other than First Timers/First Season)
Male Mr. Classes - under 80kg, over 80kg, over 90kg

The Pro-Am is open to any Overall National title holder (Mr Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, UK, etc), any federation (NABBA, UKBFF (EFBB), BNBF, NPA, WPF, etc) British class winners, any federation European or World title holders, IFBB (present or former) Pro's or Universe class winners (exceptions may be made subject to the achievements of the entrant).

The following "cash sponsorship" will be paid to the top 5 in the Pro-Am 1st £1000, 2nd £500, 3rd £250, 4th £150, 5th £100. This will not effect any existing sponsorships the athlete may already have.

ALL ENTRY FORMS WILL BE REQUIRED BY 07/05/07

We now can confirm Stuart Core will be guest posing and the entry of former IFBB pro Paul George into the pro am class along with Mr UK John Bridge, Mr UK Shane Copley, Mr UK Graham Park, Mr Britain Jimmy Salmond, Mr World Ian Sturrock, Mr Europe Dave Fox, Mr Scotland Gary Wilson, Mr Europe Robert Turner and Mr Europe George Gillan.

All the amateur classes will be well contested too with many top bodybuilders entering too. Wait till you see the ladies figure line up!

It should be a good line up in the amateurs and the pro-am, I'm prepping a few really good guys this year and I know they all have the potential to do the damage if they get it right on the day.

I just hope I can get it right on the run up to the shows and not let them down with any wrong advice.

I usually spend the evenings at shows choking back tears as i see my guys getting their trophies (unless its the Uni where I never leave the bar at night!), it means a lot to me to help them do well, especially since I'm fkd and will never get the chance to put everything I've learned into practice myself.

I never suited abs anyway!

I'm good Neil, I just meant that each time I competed I got it wrong in the last month so took a few years out to learn where I was going wrong and to allow myself to gain more size.

By the time I was ready to compete again I was 17'2 and in pretty good condition and then found out I'd been born with a heart defect, so everything I'd learned about diet, anabolics, gh, training techniques etc were things I could no longer put into practice for myself.

I coach others on these things now and I'm just as nervous when I go to watch contests where I have athletes competing as I was when I competed myself. I get all teary eyed when they do well because I'm so pleased for my people when they do well.
