Re: IFBB Worlds Bikini winner fails drug test
this is true paul. Im sure that everyone competing there did everything they thought necessary to pass the tests as they were expecting them im sure.
we all make mistakes!
This testing is an oddity, a show pony rolled out now and then, so that they can claim to promote drug free bodybuilding at world level. But look at the physiques they are rewarding.... its a token gesture! nobody in their right mind would try and claim that what they want to see on stage is achieveable naturally!

Totally agree mate I see no sense in it at all even less when you realise the juniors and seniors do not get tested

Re: IFBB Worlds Bikini winner fails drug test
Presumably a fat stripping agent. Pretty harsh I'm sure they are all using.
I thought the idea was that they use lie detectors or at least they do in the UK in the natty contests? Whilst people can work their way around those, it's much more difficult...

It is not a natural fed it is the IFBB it is a drug tested show, they used a drug that is banned and they got caught others will have used it no doubt but that cannot be a defense when caught

drug testing.. so pointless in modern sport.. and trying to beat the test causes more health issues than getting in shape..

Same as the olympics as well?
The jamaican team doesnt have internal tests in the off season... only drugs tests by IOC at the games itself.
The IOC does it all the time.
Even FIFA does it as well with football players.
'Certain' cyclists are caught in the tour de france as well etc...
Same with rugby players.
In the end, they are all just show pony's as you put it.
But that's life.
We all know that these athletes are the best in the world because of their training and genetics, so do the federations. Just as we know that they virtually all use banned substances, so do the federations. But it has to be made out to the public that they are not using anything because otherwise this is what happens:
Joe bloggs in the public thinks that the ONLY REASON such n such is number 1, is because of 'steroids' making him the champion.
So joe bloggs starts using 'da steroids' and ends up putting his health at risk.
So best to simply catch people out for failing the drugs tests. Best way really.
The only other way (and this would be great, but not practical in real world) would be to let everyone use banned substances...so this would then result in the idiot public believing that all they need to do in order to be a champ is to use steroids...so idiot joe bloggs starts using steroids and quickly realises that steroids dont do jack sh1t for him. That would be the best way...then it would also show the idiot public that steroids arent the 'only reason' that champions win. But this is not plausible.

Re: IFBB Worlds Bikini winner fails drug test
exactly the same as every other sport at pretty much any level, from grass roots to elite level.
In fact id go so far as to say its very unlikely that there are any elite level althletes in any sport that are anywhere near the top that are natural.
Doing what it takes to win is prevelant even from a grass roots level, and not just with the winners.
but your right i guess, most of the public would rather be blindly naieve to it than just accept it as a part of sport
