Sort of, but done slowly rather than explosively, and stopped when the triceps are parallel with the floor.

Upright rows are one of the most dangerous exercises for the shoulder joint. It is a totally foreign movement. If you have ever had a shoulder injury you would know not to do them.

I personally gave them up for around 6 years(after a shoulder injury) and now only do them sparingly with a wide grip to hit the lateral deltoid.(as stated before).
