Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

Hey Nine,

Guess what HSA won't cover me for atleast 2 years for existing injuries, where did you see the bit about the cover as long as your not a In-Patient... never mind eh, if i dont get better soon i will just stick it on my credit card and get a scan so atleast i know how bad it really is.

Mind you saying that it felt almost 95% beter yesterday and slipped back to abt 80% today so just keeping an eye on in ! Sooooo Frustrating, lost a stone since my injury so it's not good. Mind u makes me focus more on my pigeon legs LoL !

Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

It was in some leaflets my wife had. Thinking about it, there may be special conditions as she got our policy via her work, they do a civil service scheme. Sorry if that's the case bud.

If you have to pay for it, it would still be worth it as it sounds to me like it needs looking at, but may be easily sorted with the right treatment. Hope you get some joy soon. In the meantime, hammer those legs!!

Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

A trapped nerve will not always manifest as pain, but it certainly can do. I have a trapped nerve at the moment (nearly sorted though) which rendered my left pec & tricep weak overnight, but no pain at all & I can't imagine what caused it, maybe sleeping in an odd position.

Maybe you are just allergic to your GF & it shows as pain!

Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

Right guys,

Just got back from my psyio ! and still same old news :( he thinks I got an impingement on some of the muscle/tendants in the back of the shoulder/rotator so need to start doing some one arm rows now in my routine. But he said it wont get better until the muscle mass increases around the lats etc.... this is to make sure my shoulders are fixed more when doing my rotations.....

It's really starting to pi3s me off now and was wondering if its worth runing a cycle to accelerate the muscle growth becasue my main problem is my lats are too weak and there letting the shoulder move to early in certain movements which is causing me the problems.

Opinions will be more then welcome..... as u can imagine i'm comming into the 4th month now of no upper body work so very depressing.

Was thinking about a 6-8 week Test-E cycle maybe 250mg w1 - 4 & w 4 - 8 up to 500mg.... what do you guys recon ?

Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

Man, I knew it, in fact if you look back at my post's I suggested muscle inballance.
Dammit, same Sh1t as me.
Ok, so my advice to you is this, and this comes from personal experiance too.

You are going to have to back off some on the bench and military presses and concintrate more on rowing, even dead lifting.
This will take some time really.
It did for me but I am thankfull to my chiropractor for giving me info on this matter.

I will give you the two exercises he gave me.

Pulldown machine, you will stand in front of it, with strait arms (wide) you will pull the bar with strait arms down to your waist, use a light enough weight (20-30 lbs) as to not cause the primary muscles to overtake the secondary muscles. This exercise will help tie in the lats to the rear part of the shoulder.

Next exercise is you stand in front of where two walls come together making a 90 degree. with arms parallel to the ground your elbos bent you lay back (standing up) into the two walls. You are facing away from the walls and you are about almost a foot away from the wall, it would be like doing a reverse pushup/pressup.
This will strengthen the rhomboid muscles.

now on your back day, id like you to do two pulling exercises in rowing, prefrebly low row then a mid or slightly upper.
One arm cable rows are great as they have alot of stretch and range.

Now chin up mate, this will take some time to sort but it WILL heal if you do as suggested.

To answer your gear question, I see a positive and a negative here.
Ths positive would be yes you will get stronger and probably be able to make that muscle that is lacking stronger on gear. But you will have to back off on the pushing a little if you do decide to do that.

On the negative, Collagen is compromised on gear, meaning you can get very strong at the expense of some connective tissue.
Testosterone will kind of make the connective tissue weak.
So, maybe something like EQ or even deca if you so decide (I hate deca), might be a good idea.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

I could'nt say for sure Danny, but I used some cyp to help with nerve damage caused by the trapped nerve & it has made a huge difference.

In your case, it is entirely down to you, have you ever used anything before?
It may be worth popping a thread on the steroids & supps section to get a good spread of opinions as I won't profess to be an expert on gear.

Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

Cheers guys, been waiting for your replies all day.... Scott gonna start doing that as from tonight.... gonna really work on the rows.... btw do i need to do one day on one off of can i just to it everyday !

Yeah Nine I done some apex d-bol.... abt 9 months ago and started a thread about a cycle i was gonna soon do but wasnt really related to my injury, all i got at the moment to run was some test-e 2 x 10ml 250mg and 1 x 10ml eq 250mg and some stanzol & prim but thats for the summer.

but havent started it because of my shoulder, but i read the same thing as what scott put that it builds the muscle up well but all the connecting tissue dont really gain from it if anything they can be worse off when u have an injury.

How did the cyp help & what did u run ?

BTW guys ur advice is always good and taken on board.... thanks

Also.... Scott as u have had the same thing as me how long were u off for btw ?

Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

I never was off, I worked around it. I did take off bench, incline, military presses for 2 months while I attacked my rowing with massive intensity.
My goal was to get the back caught up with the front.
I mean, I really went heavy and tried to get as strong as possible in those exercises.

Looking back, I know why I got injured.
Looking fwd, I know I wont get injured, I also use more control with the weight now days.

do those exercises when ever you feel like them.
My chiropractor suggested 1 set of each before I go to work each day.
But, I think if you did them with shoulders you would be ok.

It took almost 3 years for my shoulder to be healed. Its about 100% now.

Holy Crap...........!!!! That's forever :( i was thinking more along the lines of 3 months. But I think i'll do what u did and train like a Motherfoe, to bring all my back up, but saying that i've always had a stronger back than my front which is odd. But maybe because I stopped working it as much is where i got into trouble.

I'll try and do some stuff tonight and give u an update on how i get on...! :lift:

If anyone else is reading this thread, I wish I did more work on my core exercisres and not just went for size and strength because now I know how important it is todo rotation and stabalisation exercises for the shoulders, Scott i'm sure you will agree with me on this one ! :boohoo: :hurt:

Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

I neglected my back at a time when I was trying to beat my best of the best bench.
With this on gear gave me an injury.

And I am sure that the connective tissue damage was not helped by the use of testosterone either.

I did 250mg eod for one week, then reduced it to 250mg every five days. I have just gone back on GH @ 4iu eod & will be introducing d.bols at 30-40mg a day in the next week. This will only be a six week cycle, switching to propionate in the last three weeks then three or four weeks off, then back on. I'm running HCG eod as of next week alongside the test (as per Hack's advice. In truth, his advice was to stay off, but he knows why I have decided to go back on..............I'm stupid!) :tongue10:

The cyp is reputed to help with nerve regeneration, so that was my main reason. I went from normal down to 30% of normal strength almost overnight when the nerve got pinched, but after physio & cyp it's now back to 80% ish. I could'nt incline press 40lb bells when it was weak, now I can move 90lb bells with ease. My normal working weight would be about 140-150lb bells.

Re: Injury Advice - Rotator Cuff !!!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...042901195.html

I know its not really to do with weight lifting, but its an intresting article about baseball players and steroids about how they increase strength and size but maybe still be prone to shoulder injury because the tendants arent really strengthened in anyway by there use if anything they weaken.

Here are some quotes too from the link:
Steroids, and the haphazard weightlifting that often accompanies them, can upset the finely tuned balance in a pitcher's shoulder in several ways:

· Steroids weaken connective tissues like tendons and ligaments while strengthening the muscles attached to them.

· Over-strengthened muscles can restrict range of motion, altering a pitcher's delivery and putting even more stress on soft tissues.

· Steroids combined with improper weightlifting can exacerbate imbalances between shoulder muscle groups, leading to dislocations.
