need some help rotator cuff

ok so i was working out with a friend of mine. i usually bench 150 lbs 4 times. i wanted to do a faliure set at 150 lbs. well i was able to put the 150 up 5 times by myself. when i told him i wanted him to help me on this rep he said ok so i brought it down. when i got to the bottom my left arm went limp i dropped the weights on my chest. my buddy helped me get it up. its been bout 2 weeks now and i went to work out cuz it didnt hurt anymore but i put a small amount of weight on just to make sure. i couldnt even lift it and then my shoulder started to kill me again. do u think i ripped a muscle of pulled something? like its kinda hard to put my arm straight up in the air. any help would be great. thank you..

Re: need some help

Sounds like a cuff problem. Did it feel like it slightly dislocated?

Oh and prob should be in the injury section :P

Re: need some help

Hello Mate

I doubt if you have torn or ripped the muscle as you wouldnt have been able to do much at all in the 2 weeks since you done it.

The pain would have been to much and you would have gone to your GP.

I expect its a nasty sprain, i think you mean your delt yes, not your shoulder?

Leave all upper body weight for a week and then slowly get back into it, starting light and working back up.

Remember to stretch and warm up well before you start.

Re: need some help

well it hurts more torward the top of my arm like on the front of my shoulder. its weird. if i do to much with it it does kill. or if i reach up for something it hurts. theres no pain unless i do something. im able to move it around and stuff like that just not upward. thats whats confusing me. im glad to hear that you dont think its a rip. thanks guys ill def stay off the upper body for a week. thank you.

Re: need some help

I rested it for 2 weeks and trained lighter than usual. In reality, you don't have a choice to train any heavier because it kills.
