shooting pain

when ever i try to go heavy on bench (over 40kg a side) i can bring the weight to within 3-4" of my chest but to go any lower causes shooting pains in my right rear shoulder and tricep if i stay below 35kg a side its not so bad it also doesnt hurt so much when im on a course but as soon as i come off it returns. my right shoulder feels like it needs to crack most of the time and i have numbness in three of my finger ends on my right hand my physio says im too big and that he cant work on me for all the mass any suggestions?

paul m will become famous soon enough
go and see a better physio mate i went to see one who does mainly pro rugby league players so was used to working on bigger bodies and alot more practical than someone just telling u to stop training.

the reason its not hurting whilst on is prob because of the added water - get to a better physio - its the only thing to do

I would stretch that bad boy out.

Do you do bent over row movements?

Take your right arm and grab your left shoulder with your right hand. Now take your left hand and grab your right elbo and pull it twards your chest.
Does this hurt?

Trapped nerve for sure, probably some inflammation, as Scott said stretching would have helped. Glad you got it sorted!
