Rate my DIY MRP

I've just mixed this. It's two servings worth.

250ml Semi-Skimmed milk.
125ml Pure Pineapple juice.
3x Whole Eggs.
2x scoops Whey protein.
1x scoop Oats.
Half a box of Strawberries
Ice and water.

Opinions appreciated. I'm going to do some different MRPs later today, so I'll post them to rate as well. This will give a better idea of the nutrient spread I get throughout work.

Safe-safe.

What weight of oats do you get in one scoop? If this is a standard ~30g whey scoop it won't be that much (15-20g at a guess) so I'd be tempted to add more oats. I'm guessing the pineapple juice is there for flavour? It obviously has lots of sugar in it compared to the lower GI carbs you'd get from oats. Have you worked out the nutrient totals for the drink? I know it's a pain but worth it I reckon.

It's a 70cc scoop. The juices are pure with no added sugar, so partly to taste and partly for the vitamin content. Haven't added the nutrient totals. I'm waiting for Hacks/Tat/Peg to jump on this thread and do the math for me.

Lazy! Hopefully Hacks might know how much oats you get in a 70cc scoop (I only think in weight).

I did mean the sugar content of the pure fruit juice; it is fructose though.

Pineapple juice is good for the digestive enzyme to help break down the protein.
The milk has its own sugar as well.

There is quite a bit of sugar in both MRP even if it is fructose.

I like the idea of green tea included. It is similar to adding coffee for the caffeine.

If you are not wanting to lose flab than the MRPs are good enough though I would use them only as a variety and not every day.

If they are for while you are at work, I'd opt for more solid food and just eat the fruit and eat an egg salad stuffed in a tomato or bell pepper with the whey mixed in with the egg. You get so much more nutritionally from the solid fruit than the juice.

I would say they are a good MRP for a day you want lots of carbs to restock your glycogen in your liver and need quick energy.

For the conversion of cc to grams (oats powdered like whey would be the same amount as whey) If they are not powdered then it is better to use a measuring cup and put in 120ml of oats which will give you 27g carbs 5 g protein 3g fat.

How many ounces/grams are in 1/2 a box of strawberries?

You know, I've even made stickies for you so you can calculate your nutritional values!!!  I am a teacher... My goal is to get you self sufficient... work myself out of a job so to speak.
Your homework assignment is to calculate the values for yourself.
:tongue10:
I am sure you will get an A+.

Genius Timmy, I see you had the pineapple juice in there for the fact they have an enzyme that helps with digestion. And then the eggs for their protein content and the fact that protein helps build and repair muscles.

I dont care what everyone else says about you Timmy, your a smart guy

I've never tried mixing tomatoe and apple like that; does it taste good? Sounds interesting. That shake looks pretty good to me (you'll be getting 500kcals or so per serving there).

I checked last night and one level scoops of the oats I have is ~30g (they packed tighter than I'd expected).

Cheers mate. No, there was f*ck all fruit in the office fridge this morning, just a tomatoe and an apple I found by the sink. There's supposed to be a really cheap greengrocers about half-mile from work, so I'll go there later and stock up. On further consideration, I'm going to try to keep to whole fruits instead of juices. Taste was OK.

I've had an idea. I'm going to try and keep to green veg and fruit for my carb source after 6pm. So this evenings two-servings shake consists of...

250ml Semi-Skimmed milk.
2x Whole Eggs.
1x scoop Whey protein.
2x Carrots
1x serving Broccoli
2/3rds box of Strawberries
Ice and water.

As well as the MRPs today I've had: seperate PWO carb/creatine (Reflex XXL) and PWO 50g Whey shakes.

Plus a double serving of Oat and Whey shake through breakfast. 3 Pork chops, 15 Ham slices, and several servings of salad.

I'm going to have another shake combo before bed. Some eggs and I'll get some Cottage Cheese on my way home.

I've just moved to a new flat this sunday so I'm in a period of readjustment. It's in Camden, London, and my flat/work/gym/sainsburys are all within 3 minutes of one another. Started cardio mornings today, so I'll alternate between 15/20 minute jogs or a similar period on the gym rowing machine. I'm trying to eat cleaner and take in more fruit and veg. What I really want to do is get a wicked diet plan sorted for October 2nd when I begin a cracking new cycle.

So yah, a lot of liquidised foods, but it's convenient and fun. And I bought a new blender today.
