I'm not sure how big your tablets are.

I think a regular pill tablet over here is 1/4tsp.
and 1 TBSP is 3 tsp.

so that would be 9 tsp for the recipe or 36 pill size tablets. LOL!!!

Best to crush a tablet up into your measuring spoon and see.

    PWO Shake

Try this just once and see what you think

Half a Papaya. Peeled and roughly chopped. Half a small mango. Peeled and roughly chopped. 150ml Orange juice. 1 small bottle (100g) of probiotic drink like Actimel. 25gms Whey Protein powder (I use choc-mint)

blend powder with Orange and Actimel, add fruit and blend till smooth. Add ice if desired or add water if too thick.

    apprécier votre boisson

    enjoy your drink

I think that shake needs more protein.

Choc/mint and papaya/mango is an interesting taste combination.

Here's a link from the Reading Room about PWO drinks

There are mixed opinions about having fruit PWO.

Yes, but at least have more whey.
Again from what I have heard fructose restores liver glycogen stores over muscle glycogen stores.

It also is much slower at spiking insulin PWO as well.

But I am one of those that uses zero carbs PWO shake when dieting.
Not sure exactally which way I prefere.
I do have a certain way of doing things right or wrong.

One half of me wants to take advantage of GH output PWO and the other half wants to replenish gylcogen stores (in muscle).
But, I am not one to have fast acting carbs, I think this can have some effect on insulin resistance/insulin sensitivity and I just dont like the idea of fast acting carbs, anytime.

So, dont know what to say, many opinions on this one here big time.
I have done alot of reading and there is convincing arguements on both sides of this one.
If you like I can kindof give you a quick summary of each idea.
I dont think everyone can be right
But I think everyone can be wrong to a certain degree.
Some looks good on paper but in practice might be flawed.

For me right now I tend to lean towards the research here Tat posted in her thread. (Thanks, Hackskii for the link refinement tip. practice makes perfect. )

When I listen to my body, When I'm at work after class, my body wants a powerade first and then a handful of peanuts.
If I'm at home I will make a strawberry protein drink because the body is saying fruit then protein in that order.

Now, maybe I could substitute the fruit with some vitamin C to burn more calories and fat afterwards but that protein drink in the evening tends to be my last source of food for the day before bed.

Not sure if it is the best route to my goal of lean muscle and lower body fat but right now it seems to be working so I'm not going to change it too much though I am always willing to refine it as needed.

Each person must find their own routine and success for their own body's particular needs.

I think listening to your body is not the best idea.

When I eat more carbs I crave more carbs.
When I diet and lower my carbs I crave them for about 3 days.
Day 3 on I am good to go and crave nothing.
In fact I can eat celery for carbs and be just happy with that.

Now sometimes the body will crave a certain food for a reason but I dont think poweraid is any good.
With the exception of electrolytes being replenished that stuff is worthless.
I dont like the idea of high fructose corn syrup in my food, not to mention most of the corn is Genetically modified.

I don't define what my body is telling me as a craving.
Cravings I can ignore and discipline and find the proper food substitute for the craving.

It is really a sense of fast/slow carb, protein, fat that the body tells me I need. I am disciplined in what is good to eat and not good to eat.

It is hard for me to stick to any diet that limits my variety of choices as it brings back memories of my fat days and the many diets I used and then had yo yo results once I went off the diet and the failure of it.

I also find that when I am lacking sleep I will CRAVE fast carbs so I will get more sleep and lose that craving.

Well, it's powerade or soft drink that is available to me to give me the fast sugar after training at work so I opt for the powerade because of the electrolytes. Neither really is any good.

I should bring some fruit to work but that isn't practical for me so I opt for the sugar in powerade instead of the soft drink. I may start bringing some green tea with honey and see how that works now that I think about it.

Yes, more whey in that PWO drink of yours, Rebootuk:
Merci de votre recette pour utilisant la papaye et la mangue. Tels sont des fruits que je voudrais apprendre pour apprécier plus. I hope I wrote that correctly, my french is rusty.

    My Mass shake

Just started my cycle and when on cycle I always have a couple of homemade mass shakes at least once a day! I've tried some of the branded ones but don't really like them! Heres what I stick in mine

    350g Low fat bio yoghurt
    8 scoops Protein shake
    70g Oats
    1 pt Semi-skimmed milk
1/2 Tin fruit in juice inc juice
    1-2 tsp Peanut butter

Really simple just blitz it all up and keep in fridge in a jug! Nice lot of calories and you get a portion of fruit!
