![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | WOT ANOTHER PROTEIN BAR!? Nutritional Facts: 1 serving Custom protien bar Calories: 345 Protein: 23g Carbs: 21.5 Fat: 19.5 Ingredients 1 16oz Peanut Butter (I used natural peanut butter) Calories: 2800 Protein: 126 Carbs: 84 (Fiber 28, Sugar 12) Fat: 224 (42 sat fat) 6 Tablespoons Honey Calories: 384 Protein: 0 Carbs: 103 (Fiber 0, Sugar 103) Fat: 0 1 cup old fashioned Oatmeal Calories: 300 Protein: 10 Carbs: 54 (Fiber 16, Sugar 2) Fat: 6g (1 sat fat) 6 scoops Protein powder (I used ON 100% DBL Chocolate per recipe) Calories: 660 Protein: 138 Carbs: 18 (Fiber 0, Sugar 6) Fat: 6 (3 sat fat) How to prepare Mix the peanut and honey. Some like to heat it up in the microware for 60-80 secs. I did for 60 secs, that made it warm but not hot. Add the protein powder and mix. The protein will look to be too much for the mix, but don't worry. Put some arm in it and mix well. You can grind the oatmeal or add as is to the mix and mix well. Now spread it in a small pan or something and cut it into 12 cubes, then put it in the fridge for little bit. I would recommend cutting it first because it will harden in the fridge. Cost: Depends where you buy the ingredients, the cost will range from $0.35-$0.50 per serving. Remarks: 1. Half the carbs are fiber, and most of the fat are unsat fat. 2. The servings are small and you can eat more than one at a time easily. 3. Tastes like peanut butter! 16 ounces Natural peanut butter (2Cups) 8 tablespoons honey (I used 10) six scoops of Optimum Chocolate whey protein powder (Gotta Be ON, Best tasting!!) 1 cup of uncooked oatmeal (I used 2cups) Mix the pb and honey in a bowl, microwave on full for 80 secs. Add the rest and mix together. Can add raisins/nuts etc to taste. Smooth into 13x9 tray and leave in fridge for 20mins. Cut into 10 to 12 equal bars and wrap and store in fridge!

![]() | Whats in the 'CNP Pro-Bar XS' bars? I'm looking to make my own version of a protein bar for cutting but most recipes seem to have loads of carbs but the CNP Pro-Bar XS reports to only have 4.2g carbs and 30g of Protein. I was wondering if anyone had an idea about what is in it? Does anyone have a recipe that has such low levels of carbs compared to Protein? Cheerz |

![]() | The 4.2g of carbs is refering to the net carbs (sugar) content, it will probably have about 30g total carbs per bar usually maltodextrin (maltose and dextrose) and milk and whey protein, to get the taste of a bar without the calories you'll have to add a sweetener Heres a decent recipe, if you want more protein per bar simply add powder and a little more milk Ingredients 6 egg whites 200g oats 60g vanilla or plain protein powder 150ml skim milk 2 bananas, mashed 2 tbsp of sweetener *** Method Preheat the oven to 180°C. Mix together all ingredients and blend until smooth. Spoon into a greased, lined cake tin and level. Cook for 15 minutes or until browned. When cooled, cut into 8 bars. Makes 8 bars. Per bar: 148kcal, 13.3g protein, 22.3g carbs, 1.5g fat. |

![]() | Cheers, thanks for the recipe, it's certainly a good starting point. I'm to make a bar which has very low carbs for cutting, I think the key will be finding a replacement for the oats which most home-made recipes have in them. With the oats in the bar its more like flapjack. The trick I guess is working out what to replace it with. |
