Re: Beef Jerkey or Biltong?

Jerkey is more salty than I would like to have on a daily basis.
Great for hiking and not having food around....

Re: Beef Jerkey or Biltong?

We had a thread on this recently. It's more of a snack due to all the spices and salt.

Re: Beef Jerkey or Biltong?

Most spices are ok but salt should be minimised.

I donno how your beef jerky is made but various Biltong can be rather salty. Great for drinking beer with as you will want more beer.

Re: Beef Jerkey or Biltong?

I liked the idea of jerky when i came to the states as its available every where, however, it tore up my stomach leading me to believe it wasnt being digested and thus pointless for me.

What I could find:

Found

Also Found

Jerky label, showing ingredients and nutritional information. A 30 g serving of this jerky has 21 g of protein, 1 g of fat, 515 mg of sodium, and no carbohydrates.
