protein is a macronutrient not a powder and alone it will serve minimal purpose in a diet. Pick some of the foods below, they are all slower digesting and punctuate your time with these:
beef
eggs
chicken
turkey
tuna
bacon back
low fat cottage cheese
etc etc
I have one whey shake after training, no pre this evening that...just crack on with eating using whey PWO and for moments you cant get food in
there are slow digesting powders to include:
Blends
casein
milk and egg
but at the end of the day food can do the same PLUS provide more satiety and more than likely, more micros to boot
