Re: possible daft question

Sure, as long as you're hitting you're protein requirements and having at least 5 servings of protein (including shakes) you'll be fine.

Is it optimum? Probably not

What I mean is, people don't advocate 6-8 meals a day for no reason.

You eating 3 meals a day like the average joe isn't ideal at all - but if thats all you can do, then go for it and I don't see why it wouldnt work - although I would recommend just sorting yourself, stop making excuses and find a way of getting in more meals

Re: possible daft question

The reason i cant consume lots of food during the day is i have a very busy working life. I am lucky to get a 30min break during my 8 hr shift so i find it hard to fit in lots of food around my work, I also cant cook anything in work so i tend to just east simple things i can take with me.

Dude, try working all the hours under the sun - at all different times.

Let me give you a run down of my diary this week to show you how difficult it is (and mines no where near as bad as some peoples....mainly PScarb)

Sunday = 8am-8pm (2 private clients in that shift)
Monday = 'off' except private appt. at 8am, then again at 5pm then circuits class at 6pm
Tuesday = off
Weds = 14 fkin hours in one bloody building, private stuff then shift 2-10pm
Thursday = after finishing at 10pm, back into work for 6am-2pm
Friday = Client at 7am tomorrow morning - normal shift 2-10pm with LBT class at 6.15 and private client at 9pm
Saturday = off
Sunday = would be again 12hours 8-8 but booked off as holiday for Portsmouth BBing show

All this as well as trying to actually fit in a life, shopping, seeing the GF (away at the moment on holiday so things are easier), train and of course eat

Re: possible daft question

at the end of the day, it is better to get your protein from real food sources, however....if the only way you can get your protein intake up to the right level is shakes then it is far better than nothing.
