Looking for best UK protein shake

Sorry if this gets asked all the time, i'm new.

As you may have read my post in "getting started", im about to turn 17 and weigh just less than a pathetic 8.2 stone. It's really damaging my confidence socially so I'm gunna focus on my diet and start a GYM routine. (I have asked for advice on those two aspects in my thread on the getting started section of this message board.)

I would really like some advice and if possible a link to an online shop where I can buy the most highly recommended protein shake by yourselves. If you could give reviews, prices, and directions for use that would be great.

Thanks, and great forum you've got here! :beer1:

P.S Just found these http://naturesbest.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=360 - are they any good, or should I be looking at protein shakes? (If so, as asked above, please suggest which shakes and where to buy.)

Re: Looking for best UK protein shake

the advertisers on here are very good but i would suggest getting plenty of solid food down you, powders are just a supplement to your diet and not a magic potion

Ultimate Nutritions Whey Protein seems to work for me, tastes just like a milkshake too! Seen the best gains on Met-Rx though but it tastes absolutaly awful, and that seems to be the opinion of everyone i know whos taken it!

Re: Looking for best UK protein shake

most proteins by the top sellers are the same if we are just talking about a whey or a blended protein, we each have our opinions on taste for me i prefer Extreme i dont like bulk protein sellers like bulk powders or myprotein as the taste is rank but their protein is decent just tastes like old socks.

Team1 will become famous soon enough
Re: Looking for best UK protein shake

For protein thats not full of chalk fillers and other guff you dont need that the "branded" labels fill there product with, your better just going with a bulk supplyer like adonis, all in 1 or maybe MP but there customer service sucks

You won't get any better gains off of branded stuff like met-rx etc, thats allot of balls. Protein powder is Protein Powder in General (exept from the crap you get from Holland & Barrett)

I sugget the cheapest in bulk supply which is probably Whey Protein Concentrate 80 ( WPC80). buy it unflavoured and taste it up yourself with nesquick powder.

Spend the money you save on real food like red meat from the butchers.

Many, many branded sups DONT use fillers and other crap.

Which brands are you talking about, specifically, that do?

In terms of flavouring it up, doesn't nesquick have LOADS of sugar in it, because it basically is sugar with a little sweetener in it?

Most people buy protein they can stomach on a regular basis, if it tastes gross, or isn't enjoyable, it misses the point, that is why people will continue to experiment with different brands, and bulk suppliers, and swap and change on a pretty regular basis.

I sometimes buy from a bulk supplier, but then again, I get bored of flavours after 1kg or so...so there really isn't a worthwhile saving for me. Additionally, I enjoy trying new brands, because the consistency and texture of the protein is often different, and well as the flavour, and it's nice trying new things.

In terms of savings, you can buy around 5kg of gorgeous ON flavoured protein now for 50 quid delivered, from a bulk supplier maybe you'd get it for 35...but 15 quid over the course of a month is nothing. I spend that every weekend on a couple beers and a take away. I'm willing to spend that much extra just for the variety and the easier, convenient, and nicer taste.
