![]() | Difference between Whey protein, and whey protein isolate? heya, been looking at getting some more protein shakes from this site : http://www.myprotein.co.uk/bulk-powd...otein-powders/ It all seems cheap, so works for me! There's "impact Whey protein" and "Impact Whey isolate" There's a £6.50 difference between the two! What is the difference? Does it really make that much of a difference? I want a good shake for generally bulking up and building muscle, what would be the best kind of shake? thanks.

Don't bother with isolate, it's designed for super fast absorbtion into the body. Only of any real benefit for very advanced athletes. If you are looking to just have a shake between your regular meals to provide extra nutrients, look for a MRP (meal replacement pack) product, whey protien is jsut that; protien... You need carbs and vits/nutes which a propper MRP will provide. Alternatively you can make your on with a blender... some fruit, whey protien, egg, cottage cheese, oats, natural yogurt (take your pick as long as you get carbs, protien and fats don't be too worried at this stage) If however it's just for post workout nutrition, you would want a shake with some sort of simple carbs (sugars) and protien. The simple carbs help to spike insulin which in turn helps to shuttle the protien to your muscle tissue (or something like that). ![]()

I know you've already got one but if you fancy a change next time id go for http://www.myprotein.co.uk/formulas/...s/hard-gainer/ (if you want mass) or if you just using it after a workout http://www.myprotein.co.uk/formulas/...ulas/recovery/ Basically anything with protein & carbs in is a good idea for your post workout shake

Because i plan to have multiple shakes in a day, could it be an idea to maybe have a shake of that in the morning, and a shake of the other stuff i got after exercise? Also, when you say mass, we are talking about muscle mass right? Im not going to suddenly be rather fat am i!?
