Liquid egg whites

Does any one use liquid egg white? Seems a very cheap but good quality source of protein and is available from MyProtein.

I've used them in the past. There handy bottles and nearly tasteless when chilled. However I prefer to eat the whole egg so they don't feature to heavily nowdays.

you can cook liquid egg whites but why you would use them for this is beyond me. Eat the whole egg dammit. LEW work as a carb-free option to whey or if you just enjoy the sensation of swallowing snot.

With the whole yolk thing.
It depends what your goal is mate - the yolk contains a third of the protein in an egg - not to mention needed fats.

All you have to do is alter another meal slightly so that your fat ratio balances out again.

I personally, unless i was dieting for a show, would keep the whole eggs in and alter something else in the diet.

Yeah I'm dieting for the next four weeks dude. For a holiday not a show though. I've done alright so far without them, was just thinking for ease of use. Cheers.

Funnily enough, biotin is found in... (wait for it)... egg yolks

True....but, whats your view on the B-vitamin Biotin binding to the protein and rendering that useless when raw?

I know many people that have had success with raw eggs (DB being one of them) but there are quite a few studies talking about this!

From my understanding, its the avidin in the egg white that binds to the biotin, causing the deficiency. The yolk (regardless of whether its raw or cooked), contains biotin, which is obviously useful to counter the potential deficiency. Whether or not the yolk contains enough biotin to counter the deficiency which the avidin causes, I am not sure - however, mother nature usually balances things out well here, so I would wager that there probably is.

Alternatively, if you cook the egg white, it destroys the avidin, thereby not resulting in a biotin deficiency. However, cooking the white is not without its issues - it apparently reduces the nutrient quality and can cause allergies.

So IMO, eat it raw, and take a biotin supplement if you don't believe that the biotin in the yolk is sufficient.
