How to slow release an isolate protein?

Hi All,

Im currently using Dymatize Elite Whey Isolate Protein. Before bedtime i consume 1 scoop and 10grams of glutamine. Is there anything i can add to make the isolate release slower when sleeping? Would adding flaxseed oil help?

I don't get it? why have whey before bed - lots of guys do it... Rather have cottage cheese or steak - something slow acting.

Re: How to slow release an isolate protein?

EFA's. Fishy fats are good before bed. Salmon etc.... if you can stomach it before bed. Im with megatron...cottage cheese and quark are good before bed... eat it with some ryvita. If you want a sup before bed get some micellar casein. I got some from reflex and i dont wake at 4 am starving. Alternatively if you want to carry on with the whey then mix it with milk and this will slow the digestion/absorption. However solids are more ideal tbh.

Re: How to slow release an isolate protein?

If you really want a shake, blend cottage cheese in to it or eggs. Or as above, take with fish oils.

Re: How to slow release an isolate protein?

get micellar casein (slow acting protein shake) or Pro-peptide which has whey and micellar casein in.

Re: How to slow release an isolate protein?

why isolate?

Isolate is the fastest acting protien powder. It is like saying I want to buy a ferrarri but only drive at 20mph. Why?

If you have some isolate, it will be out of your system before you have had chance to get your pyjamas on and got in to bed!

Just get some micellar casein and get it down yer neck pal!
