![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: ready mixing protein drinks You can get very small hand-held mixers for about a pound that look like like a magic wand, but to be honest they're no better than using a fork. What poweder you using? Personally if it's just protein I tend to shake it vigourously in the shaker and hope for the best. However, you've brought up something interesting that I was thinking about. Like you said, on the back it says to consume within 20 minutes of mixing with water or else the whey starts to degrade. I've been wondering how this affects ready-made protein shakes you buy over the counter from gyms. Anyone have any ideas? |

Back when I had a regular job many moons ago, I used to take MRP sachets and a shaker cup to work every day. You can get some decent premade protein drinks though. We do some by ABB (American Bodybuilding) that are pretty good. The downside to most protein shakes is that if they are milk based (as most are) they have to go through heat treatments to be legal for sale, which damages the protein to some extent (or so I am told) so they arent a patch on protein powders. There are some whey isolate ready to drinks on the market now, like SSUSA protein ice, which dont have to go through heat treatment and are higher quality but they tend to cost a fair bit more. I think Reflex have a similar product hitting the market also. There are always protein bars as well. Again, not as good a quality as protein powders but better than not having anything. I recommend AST Vyo Pro Bars and Garnell Apire bars. The final option is those new liquid whey 'shots' that have hit the market. Again they are a bit pricey, but very convenient. IDS do one and GEN do one. In fact, CNP have one now also with beta alanine added in (excellent ingredient that increases workout endurance).

![]() ![]() | Re: ready mixing protein drinks I have managed to collect a load of shakers nd i just load a few up with my sups in the morning and take to work. Just add some bottled water so i can neck it in about 2 mins..easy peasy. Dont opt for the ridiculous overpriced milk based rubbish in the fancy glass bottles... their full of low quality protein thats low on the bv scale and simple sugary carbs... not what you want when trying to lean gain muscle. The main point of this rant is to avoid that stuff at any cost! Last edited by Conrad; 29-04-2007 at 10:35 PM. |

Again this isnt a slating! I use other products from them which are great but me, and others, have had problems with the shakers so keep checking back on the shaker section to see when the new ones are in. ![]() | |

Make some sandwiches up, or some pasta & get them down you on your lunch/breaks. Meanwhile, when your on your next trip up the ladder, quickly down a shake. It can be done. Even the 'toilet' breaks works a treat. There's loads on here that sneak to the bog for a munch! ![]()
